1st visit to Newburyport center and very impressed with everything I saw. Their management system of access during the covid situation was efficient and rapid. Was greeted by a staff member after clearing access and in a treatment room in seconds. The staff was very friendly and performed their tasks very quickly. I was seen by Dr. Shah less then 2 minutes later and was very impressed with my meeting with him. He explained my treatments and listened to my input in trying to describe my condition and symptoms. I feel that I have found a great Doctor and a great center for my treatment. I live 40 miles away and could have found a closer place for treatment but the recommendation too go here was great advice. A great doctor and a great staff.

My mom saw Dr. Shah for a consult. I sat in because she gets flustered & forgets things.
She had an EKG, then Dr. Shah came in. After medical history, she asked him for the EKG results. He said to her, "It would be too hard to explain." She asked if they were good or bad, he said, "Abnormal, but that's to be expected." ?? Having never seen a cardiologist, she was visibly alarmed and asked him to explain. He said it would be a waste of time to explain. (He used that phrase a lot.)
I could tell that my mom was really frustrated and flustered, so I asked, "In layman's terms, can you either explain the results, or what you mean by abnormal?" Dr. Shah said, "I could explain it, but I know you wouldn't understand what I was saying."
A) You give a patient a test, you tell them the results. FIND a way to explain it. B) You say the results are abnormal, but explaining would be a ?? waste of time ??
This was just one of the MANY things that went wrong with Dr. Shah. FYI, my mom got in the car, & started apologizing and crying.
Not quite heart healthy.

I went there for having palpitations every day for 6 weeks. My primary sent a report for event monitor. He never read it. Denied receiving it . Had really bad attitude and arrogant.i told him symptoms he kept saying what you want me to do about it. Just awful!!!!!! I went there 2 years ago and he was wonderful. Waited 7 weeks to be treated like dirt beyond unprofessional, I will put a complaint in with the state.

My cardiologist is wonderful. Very easy to talk to and instills confidence. The staff at the entry to the building were busy chatting with eachother and not interested in checking in patients. It was also disappointing that the tests my doctor had ordered and I had completed were not available to us. He couldn't access my echocardiogram and didn't even realize my event monitor had been returned a month ago. No record of it even being assigned to me. I suppose this is mainly the fault of the insurance company but the office ordering the tests should follow up as well Leyla S
