Heart Center-Southern Maryland: Nag Vivek MD

My heart rate was 180 he called 911 and the hospital got it down. Follow up hr was 160, he never put me on any meds to bring it down. He spent 2 minutes with me maybe 3. The people that are training to be a cardiologist took two hours asking questions, and he was in their for one minute. They change you hundreds of dollars for a visit and do nothing. I am 64 and have emphysema and you would think he would give me something to bring my high heart rate down

I didn't get a good feeling the moment I walked through the doors. If you are knocking on death's door, old and basically have given up on living a wonderfully active life, this place will be perfect for you. Upon arrival they call out names like sheep and/or cattle. It's an old place and it smells old. The front desk staff does not even look up or smile to greet you when you come through the door. The straw that made me leave and go to MedStar Cardiologists.... U are required to sign documents basically saying no other Dr. at the local hospital can treat you for heart-related issues, if you use this practices services. I refused to sign that. I know most people don't read what they sign, but I do and when the nurse said "we've never had a problem with people signing before." I knew this wasn't a good fit. Luckily for me, MedStar Cardiologists in Brandywine saw me the same day. Great Drs. there. My PCP is there as well. I'm confident all of my care will be a great coordinated effort. As for the Heart Center of Southern Maryland... looks more like, feels more like... And it seems like the last place you go before you're gone. Very unfortunate too. I live in this community but I'm going outside of it to get the care I think will be better.

Visit was excellent, front desk staff was great. Nuclear medicine tech Bobby was superb. Dr. Srinivasan and Dr. Nag are very professional and learned. Thank you guys.

I had an appointment with Dr.Nag, right after my emergency room visit. I found Dr. Nag to be very professional and cheerful. His staff was courteous and attentive. In all, I must say that my appointment was a wonderful experience.

82 and 83 y.o. mom and dad, test ordered for Tuesday, No food or any kind of medicine past midnight on Monday until 11:00 am Tuesday. Next week the same thing, etc. NO CONSIDERATION FOR AGED PATIENT, abilities and transportation challenges. Too many trips and tests for 80+ y. o.'s !!
