Dr. Scott D. Jerome, DO

Avoid this guy if you value your health. He clearly doesn't give a damn. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because his staff is top notch, just don't expect any sort of help with forming a good plan for your health.

I rarely leave negative reviews since I am a professional myself, but my husband's experience with Dr. Jerome was troubling enough that I feel compelled to warn others. His poor social skills and dismissive bedside manner left a lasting impression--unfortunately, for all the wrong reasons. It's alarming that other professionals in the field describe him similar manners. During my husband's last appointment, Dr. Jerome made a sarcastic and unprofessional comment, suggesting he should "ask [my] Google-searching wife" when discussing treatment options since his bloodwork is not improving. Not only was this demeaning, it was inappropriate and uncalled for in a clinical setting. As a professional myself, I would never think to say that to my clients. I don't know if he was trying to be funny, but that was uncalled for. He assumed I was just the "dumb controlling wife" in the room. Well surprise dude, I am in this field. Providers like him give the medical field a terrible name. Dr. Jerome claims he is knowledgeable in research. If this is the case, why was watching the highly biased Netflix Documentary, "Game Changers" recommended? This blows my mind and I cannot make sense of it. That appointment that I sat in on, was an utter failure. He also was incredibly sarcastic when my husband had legitimate concerns about statins being harsh on the body as he has extensive family history of numerous medical concerns. Dr. Jerome immediately says, "you mean the side effect of death?" Again, what was the point of the comment? It was dismissive and quite offensive. It was just not necessary. Dr. Jerome struggles to connect with younger patients dealing with hereditary conditions like familial high cholesterol. His advice feels out-of-touch and unrealistic, especially as he insists on strict dietary approaches without the credentials of a registered dietitian. His approach reflects an outdated, rigid healthcare mindset that lacks nuance and personalization. Lets not forget that big pharma and insurance owns our country. His behavior feels like he could care less about patients and is just chasing that big old pay check for writing as many scripts for statins as possible. Cardiology is a field where empathy and collaboration are essential--especially when patients are facing lifelong conditions. Unfortunately, Dr. Jerome seems more interested in lecturing than listening. I would not recommend him to anyone seeking thoughtful, modern, patient-centered care. Maybe he will see this and reflect on his flippant comments in the future. You never know who you will meet and probably should treat everyone with kindness rather than feel the need to display a power of male dominance that makes you look like an terrible human being.

I went to him because of the reviews. Dr Jerome did exactly what I expected of a good doctor... to diagnose and fix the problem.

Both Dr. Jerome, Dr. Shorofsky, and the whole office staff at this practice are beyond excellent! Supportive, caring, engaging with me at every visit and speaking to my concerns and questions. I'm so glad I found these people two years ago!

Always 5 stars for Dr jerome and his office staff. They make my day, and have been for a very long time. He is the best! Thank u all!
