This " WAS" the best heart center in Anne Arundel County. Dr Okun and his staff and UM took excellent care of me and my family for many years including my open heart surgery. Ever since Dr.Okun has retired and the university of Maryland has taken over, this place is circling the drain quick. You can't get a phone call through to the front desk. Tried for three weeks. Then supposedly they fixed that problem. Now the answering machine says they are busy and disconnects. They get rude with you because you complain. They failed to send the order for blood work to the hospital. They scheduled my Cardioversion too early without the meds. They cancelled two appointments for the procedure and tell me I missed them. The person who calls to schedule the procedure can never schedule the procedure without calling someone else and they fail to call back. Then tell me I missed my appointment. I really need to find a quality heart doctor and Hospital.

This was by far the worst experience at a physicians office I have ever encountered. I am a Diabetic and fasted for over 12 hours to perform a stress test. I arrived at the office at 7:45 for an 8:30 test and promptly signed in. By 9:30 after waiting for over an hour I had still not been seen. Countless individuals arrived after me and were all seen within 15 minutes of arriving. I approached the registration desk and stated I had an 8:30 appt. and was told by a young lady that I was all checked in. Needing to use a restroom I responded to the first floor where I had passed a restroom upon entering the office. I immediately responded back to the second floor waiting area and waited for an additional 20 minutes before being called bank and curtly informed by an assistant that she had previously called my name but I was not in the lobby. I informed her that I had waited for over an hour and was starting to crash from not eating. I was offered juice which I drank and was then told that they had been informed I arrived late. I re-iterated the fact I arrived at 7:45 and that they could verify this by my signing in or surveillance video. I was unable to complete the test and a tepid explanation and apology was given by staff. I found their explanation to be quizzical at best due to the fact that the young lady at the registration desk had made eye contact with me on multiple occasions over the course of waiting over an hour. I will not return here and cannot recommend them based upon my experience. A doctors practice is only as good as the team members who make up the supporting cast and based upon my experience much improvement is needed.

After showing up early for my appointment I was not seen. I then waited for 35 minutes to be rescheduled due to an administrative error. So, not only did I waste 2 hours of my day, the exam was not even completed. To top it off, not one staff member apologized for the mix up, nor was there any urgency to get me rescheduled following their error. Overall, customer service is very poor. If I had a choice of no stars I would provide that rating.

I scheduled an appointment 1month in advance, Called off work and made my appointment on time just for them to tell me it was automatically canceled because I didn't answer a call they made the day before while I was at work. I was not notified at the time of scheduling the appointment that this was a policy or I would've at least had a heads up. Just a COMPLETE waste of my time!

I went to a cardiologist today at the Heart center. This is part of clearance for a knee replacement. The first thing Dr. Yoon told me is that I'm not taking enough medication SMH! He didn't look at my blood-work or give me any test lol. How can it be determined whether you need meds without testing? I walked out, all these Doctors want to do is heavily medicate pushing drugs that make you worse. They don't really care about your well-being.
