Rubina Alvi, MD

I had my first patient visit today and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Asia greeted me first--such a nice, sweet lady who made me feel comfortable right away. Then Nafkote brought me back from the lobby and helped me get settled. Emily took my weight, height, and blood pressure and was very kind and efficient. Finally, I was seen by Dr. Brittany, who was extremely helpful, listened carefully to all of my concerns, and applied her knowledge in a thoughtful and reassuring way. Nafkote was also especially kind and attentive throughout my visit. Honestly, every single staff member I interacted with was wonderful. I felt welcomed, cared for, and respected the entire time. Highly recommend this office and the amazing team!

My husband and I, both retired heath professionals, have been seen by Dr. Alvi's practice for about 3 years. I am Extremely impressed by her and her staff's professionalism and dedication to their clients. Today, they realized that I need a physical for a procedure that was unexpected. The staff called, made an appointment & then called back and changed the time when they realized my husband had an appointment later in the day. They convinced an earlier patient to change her time to accommodate us. Dr. Alvi has made a diagnosis for a condition that I have that has stumped several other providers. I am extremely impressed with her and her people.

If I could give her a 10 rating out of 5, I would. I researched doctors in the area and chose her over 10 yrs ago (you read that right, I researched for a few weeks and chose her). I was lucky she was accepting new patients. She is an amazing, caring, brilliant doctor. She has the right amount of emotional intelligence and empathy to see you through. She cares, deeply, and she is SMART; not used to that. If you don't want to get a blood test or prevent an issue from getting bigger, she WILL make you, and you better give her hugs and kisses when she does lol she saves lives, I can't even begin to say enough about her. I highly recommend her, and all the circle of doctors she knows. Amazing. If it wasn't for her and her expertise and all, I wouldn't have stayed on top of my blood work (I'm also an expert at reading my chart now!); and understanding fibroids. She and her network, professional. If she tells you to see someone, see them. Shout out to Dr.s Gayatri Nimmagada, Aziz, and Abbas BLESS YOU <3 #Edit I read some of those reviews, please keep in mind that many folks have zero patience and don't understand a call back happens when you give them a chance (even the voicemail says that); AND to LEAVE A DETAILED MESSAGE. There wasn't a time that I haven't left a detailed message (that includes your DOB as the message asks you to do); where I Didn't get a call back, email, or response in the same day. For example, I left a message telling them I needed a refill on a prescription (gave my name, phone number, time of call and DOB so they can look me up quickly), I got it in the same day, 2 hours later; picked up after work. Some folks complaining think they're the only one that is calling and won't allow time for a call back and they don't leave the details except for a name. Be realistic and FAIR :)

6/3/25 POV : I'm stuck in Florida long-term and need copies of my medical records to schedule local appointments. I called Dr. Alvi's office to request copies of my medical records, and potentially have them forwarded to a local specialist. Lucia answered the phone with a bright smiling voice. Understood my request, and even called back to offer alternative solutions. Dr. Alvi's office seems to have improved their inbound call procedures -- starting with answering the phone, not allowing it to go to voicemail. Upping my review by +1 to . 7/11/24 At a routine appointment today, Julie -- the office manager (?), asked about the previous review, . We discussed what prompted the stark but -- IMO, fair review. My wife and I love Dr. Alvi, and have no particular grievance with either the front or back office staff. The frustration I expressed below -- and others expressed in their Google reviews, was with the phone system. I appreciate Julie broaching the topic. When chatting, I acknowledged my phone's settings are screwed down pretty tightly (against robo calls), meaning my intermittent difficulty receiving calls is my own damn fault. Next time I call the office, if the call goes well, I may amend my previous review. 6/17/24 I'm updating my review based upon several recent difficulties. My wife and I are among Dr. Alvi's original patients. . Dr. Alvi is still great. As ever. . After several infuriating difficulties with the phone system, messages, etc., I would no longer recommend Dr. Alvi's office to family, friends, or co-workers. *Initial Review* Visits always go well. Professional -- yet caring, medical advice and treatment. Only "area for improvement" in Dr. Alvi's medical practice is the phone system. Recommend she hire a professional medical answering service to take calls and relay messages.

Dr Alvi and her staff are truly phenomenal. I was relieved when I initially contacted her office to find out not only did she accept Medicare, but that she was accepting new patients and focused on geriatrics. I was impressed from the word go! First visit for my dad was so thorough. I have taken him to many of his medical appointments and have seen the whole spectrum of care. Dr Alvi and her staff took time asking questions and listened to concerns. She is very knowledgeable in particular with the geriatric population. Every visit since then has been equally impressive. I am one to observe how staff deal with patients and situations. Always very professional and kind. I know the difficulties of running an independent practice caused mainly by the insurance companies and their over burdening demands that are continuing to put wonderful providers like Dr Alvi out of business. We must stand up to the insurance corporations that are ruining our health care system that only care about their shareholders. I appreciate Dr Alvi and her staff for all that they do, providing genuine health CARE.
