CVCA Cardiac Care For Pets

My rescue kitten that I had for four days almost died the day after Thanksgiving. Late that night, I rushed her to Mason Dixon Emergency Pet Hospital. They stabilized her. I was told she had a congenital heart failure and heart heart was enlarged. They recomended I take her to CVCA for a cardiologist to determine the cause. The DRs at CVCA, two cardiologists spent more time than I was told it would take to examine her they did so to be sure of their diagnosis. Both agreed that she did not have a mechanical heart problem, it was Miacarditis caused by severe stress. She had been spayed, we adopted her four days later, brought her home (a 5 hour drive), a new home with a cat already living here, new people then Thanksgiving with all the family. They noted her heart started to shrink since the ER visit as well. This was the best scenario. I am eternally greatfull to the DRs (I cant remember their names at the moment) and their assistant Victor. They really care about the pets and their owners. They went out of their way to make us feel at ease and to make sure their diagnosis was correct. We will never forget what they did us. They are true professionals.

My dog tore her ACL and while at the vet visit I was told she had a heart murmur and was handed a list of more than a dozen Cardiac Vets to call for an appointment ASAP. Every one of them had no openings for 3 months and CVCA was the only one to call me back with an appointment for the following week. They are a state away in MD as I live in PA and the drive is an hour and a half, but the distance is well worth it. I could not have had a better experience! The Vet Techs were friendly and helpful and the Vets were patient and answered all my questions. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. I have called with questions since our visit and they always call back within a day and never make me feel like I am wasting their time. If you are looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Cardiac Vet, this is the place to go! I am so thankful for the great care my furbaby received from them. Thank you!!!

Huge shout out to the CVCA team in Hunt Valley! I brought Willow in for his recheck echocardiogram and although he was angry to be there, Kira, Dr. Tam, and team made sure he got through the ten minutes he was forced to spend with them. Willow has HCM with a history of CHF, and CKD. This November I'll get to celebrate his 14th birthday, and I'm so thankful to the team for helping him achieve that. Highly recommend!!

Outstanding! This was my first time to this location. When I lived in Virginia we visited the Vienna location. I couldn't recommend that place enough and this location is the same way. Such amazing and caring staff and doctors. Explaining throughout, listening, understanding how we got there and knowing just what to say both to the pet and humans! It's pricey, but what person vet specialty is not pricey. CVCA happens to be the best at what they do so you are paying for the best and at least with my dogs they deserve the very best. If there has to be a reason to bring your dog or other pet here, just know that you are in great hands and will be thoroughly taken care of. Highly recommend!!

Very thorough and everyone was so caring. It was a pleasure to see the people did not just go through the motions but actually cared about your dog.
