I recently went for a screening test at this facility. The staff I encountered throughout were amazing. I do not recall the name of the woman who rang me with a reminder the day prior to my early AM appointment, but it was so nice to hear a friendly voice rather than an automated message. I was greeted kindly at the entrance to the facility by a staff member and a volunteer. The warm greeting and welcoming attitude at the office front desk truly set the tone for the entire visit. The technician was courteous, very patient, and professional. Altogether, the staff made this a comfortable and efficient procedure visit.

It's frightening that in case of emergency, we have to come here. I've been to Harford Memorial, and they were great. I still love the staff, even though they are at Upper Chesapeake. My husband was in this hospital for over 30 nights and I slept there every night to be his advocate because he couldn't be because he was slowly becoming septic. The difference between the day shift, and night shift, was so vast. The worst night I recorded my husband dying to show the night staff something was wrong... they ignored me. That morning, after shift change, the Rapid Response Team was called to stabilize him for emergency surgery. Practically anything that could go wrong, did. His 2nd emergency surgery he landed in ICU. Hospital delirium was setting in. The wound from that surgery got infected, wouldn't heal, the infectious disease nurse got involved. After a period of wearing a wound vac, and many weekly visits to a wound doctor, the wound was finally healing. I read this hospital received a D rating. They deserve it! This was about 18 months ago and the trauma that we went through is still so raw! Update: 5 December 2025 I notice their response to my Review, matching the canned responses to all 1 Star Reviews. I called the number and left a message; however, I'm not expecting a call back as most likely it'll just be lip service. As I thought, no response... to me it's amazing they don't try to be better.

I wanted to give proper recognition for a job well done to one of your ER nurses on staff. It was Tue 11/17/25 that my partner and I came to pick up our patient. In a chaotic environment and a somewhat complicated transfer involving many moving pieces, she maintained her professionalism- exhibiting exemplary communication and kindness with my team. Thank you, nurse Natalie (last name?) Keep being great!

If I could give this hospital zero stars, I would. The way my daughter was treated this past weekend has me sick to my stomach. I've never felt so hopeless dealing with a hospital facility. My daughter was admitted for a week due to seizures. At the time, we went to the doctor because she had a cold, was feeling sick, and dizzy. I asked them to test her for COVID and the flu. The first day, the tests came back negative, so they treated her for seizures. We were discharged Saturday night. Sunday morning but had to return because she had three more seizures. Once at the hospital, I had them do another test for COVID and the flu, which showed my daughter actually had the flu. On Monday, we were transported to the Bel Aire location, where she was treated even more poorly. We couldn't get anyone to assist with showers or bathroom needs despite asking multiple times. She went down for testing again at 10am, and although the results were back, they weren't read to us until--or I had to cause a scene to get her results read about 5or6 pm and to get a nurse to help us remove her IV tape and put her patches back on to attach her heart monitor. Given how often my daughter has seizures, you'd think that every time she hit her call bell, someone would come to help. But no help at all the only reason they get one star is because they paid for our lyft home as they should after they wasted our time

My father recently fell ill with a severe case of sepsis on top of COPD and the doctors and nurses at upper Chesapeake did a great job taking care of him and helping nurse him back to health in what was a pretty scary and life threatening situation. I just wanted to express my gratitude, and his, in saying thank you. They have a great, very clean and positive atmosphere in their facility and a staff that works very hard to keep their patients comfortable and well-taken care of. Thank you upper Chesapeake, keep up the great work!
