Took my granny to his office inside of Lakeview Regional Physician Group and the nurse scanned her pacemaker for battery life and checked the home connection device. Was in and out in 15-20 mins tops. Was a quick and easy deal.

On my last visit he was over an hour behind schedule appointment times. Once I got to the room I waited another 20 minutes. When he came in, he asked me how I was doing, never checked or listened to my heart or checked my blood pressure only typed on his laptop. Then said come back in 6 months. Very disappointed in him. I'm now looking for another cardiologist.

I met Dr Barrios at Ochsner in Slidell, La. after having a major heart attack. He was the cardiologist on call. I was really bad off. I had no insurance I thought for sure I was going to die that night. Dr. Barrios and his staff got me stable. He told me that if I left the hospital without some kind of defibrilator that my prognosis was very bad..(I would most likely die) Knowing that I had no insurance (thanks Mr. President) he sugested a device called a life vest. He proceded to look for someone who would donate this device.. after 12 hours of seeking donors, Dr Barrios said that I couldn't wait anymore. Then I over heard him talking with the resident doctor about if they couldn't get medicaid to pay for a defib implant if he would go in halfs with him. I just met this man the day before and he was going to put in about $10,000 of his own money. That speaks volumes about who this man realy is. I have trusted this man with my life ever since!! he implanted a difib/pacer in my chest that night after medicaid approved, and under his guidance, I have made almost a full recovery!! This is a very caring and professional man, I am alive today because of him! I recomend him to anyone!!
