Took my 6 week old son in with breathing trouble & feeding problems 7/3/24. Dr. Crooks did all the tests to make sure he didn't have flu/covid/rsv but ignored mine, my husbands, & my dads (a retired doctor who used to work here) concerns. We mentioned that we thought he had Larnygomalacia which is a floppy voice box that causes reflux, aspiration & breathing problems. He scoffed at us & said he'd be aspirating & that he was not. They eventually discharged us with saline breathing treatments & told us we weren't burping him often enough (we burp him every 1/2 ounce).
The week after this he just continually worsened & we took him down to Our Lady of the Lakes Children's hospital who ADMITTED our son within 30 minutes of walking into the hospital. He was having desaturations down in the 60's, wasn't gaining weight & swallow study showed he in fact WAS aspirating. He was immediately put on oxygen & continuous O2 monitoring which he is still on months later. He was in the hospital for 12 days & had surgery (Supraglottoplasty with a triple scope). He came home on oxygen after being in the PICU & continuous o2 monitoring due to continued desaturations.
As a mama of 3 I will never allow a doctor to dismiss us again the way Dr. Crook did. My whole family is medical field & we all knew something was wrong. My baby could have died from this so easily & I'm never trusting St. Francis with my children ever again. We also will not be paying the $5,000 bill we received from them either.
Train your doctors better to listen, be respectful & actually figure out what's wrong. Stop dismissing terrified parents. This is the second time we've had this happen with our kids & it shouldn't happen.

Dr. Crook at St Francis Hospital in Monroe is the most caring and compassionate doctor that I've ever known. He deserves 5 stars in every category. Thank you so much Dr. Crook for taking care of me both times I was in the ER. You are the best!

He was my boyfriends doctor and had the best bedside manner he helped him every way that he could. He was the one to find out what was wrong with him after his dr office messed up a stent removal. He got him the care that he needed and assured him that he was going to get him back to his self in no time. If he had an office he would definitely be out family physician for sure. We loved him.

Went to St. Francis Er with covid/pneumonia. All he wanted to do was lecture about the vaccine & infusion. I came there for treatment not a lecture. Thank God for the caring nurses that did their job. He didn't even know all the test they did on me. He needs to be gone!!! Rude rude rude !!! If he is there if I should ever go back, I will leave !!! Worst dr EVER !!!

Hands down the kindest physician I have ever been treated by. He has the best bedside manner & disposition. If he practiced general medicine I would definitely use him as as my primary care physician!
