Dr. Shamai has been my cardiologist for awhile now. He is an excellent doctor. He has always taken good care of me. I feel very fortunate to have access to such a great doctor and care.
About Dr. Lior Shamai, DO, MPH, FACC, FSCAI
Cardiologist Lior Shamai, D.O. is Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons (NBPAS) as well as Board Certified in Nuclear Cardiology by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He implants pace-makers and internally placed cardiac monitors and manages them as well as reads peripheral disease imaging studies. He performs procedures at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and follows his patients there.

Ask questions. Dr. Shamai will tell you a heart catherization is cheaper at his new cath lab, which is true. But if you actually need to have a stent placed, he won't be able to do it there and then. You'll end up having to schedule ANOTHER appointment at the hospital. He does tell you that there is some risk in this procedure but he doesn't tell you that if anything bad happens to you in his office he'll have to call an ambulance and send you to the hospital. Ask questions. He's a good doctor and he could be the best doctor in the world but who wants to go through a procedure twice if not necessary?
