Had an unplanned cardiac cath done by Dr Ummat. Briefly explained procedure. Spoke with my husband while I was still sedated. Would not come to hospital that day or day after to answer questions. No call from his office for follow up courtesy or follow up appt. Office staff was short and rude when I called. Would not recommend.
Appointment was at 1pm they moved me to 1:45pm, and then sat in the office waited until 3pm and the smell wasn't pleasant there. So, just got up and left. Patient can just get a heart attack waiting there... Thats why people call St.Mary hospital a St.Horror
I waited over 3 hours after my appointment time to be seen. When I was seen, my concerns were completely dismissed and I was told my symptoms were "probably normal". He then proceeded to prescribed a beta blocker. For what? I have no clue. And he ignored the specific test order from my doctor and did what he felt like doing instead of actually running the test I came in for, and he claimed he was trying to save me money. So I wasted over 4 hours of my time to be told "Nothing is wrong with you, probably, but oh by the way, here are beta blockers and no explanation as to why you got prescribed them, and we're also not going to do the thing you came in for!" I wouldn't have even been nearly as upset with the wait time had anyone from the office let me know there would be a long wait. I had to ask them multiple times if I had missed my name being called and no one ever mentioned how far behind they were running. I've avoided writing this review but my experience really irked me. If you can, I would recommend trying someone else first. I had an awful experience with this office and doctor.
One of the best experiences I've had with any Dr. He listened and took my symptoms seriously. I highly recommend him to anyone.
Although we waited a long time in his office to see him, we understand why. He is very, very thorough and explains everything in detail without rushing. We were very impressed with his knowledge. He's highly intelligent and knows the heart. We were very pleased with our first office visit. If you need an experienced cardiologist, he's the ONE!
