My mom had triple Bypass scheduled for March 25, 2022. My aunt is a cardiologist in TN. She agreed with bypass, but told us to confirm Dr. Mitchell was doing "all arterial grafts" rather than "vein grafts." She explained "vein grafts don't last" and my mom is only 51. On March 24, 2022, my dad got in touch with Dr. Mitchell. He asked Dr. Mitchell how many grafts he would do and what kinds. Dr. Mitchell said 3-4 grafts, 1 arterial and 2-3 vein grafts. My dad asked why not all arterial, as he understood vein grafts only lasted about 10 years. Dr. Mitchell flew off the handle. Dr. Mitchell said "you people" get on the internet and look things up then blame me when something goes wrong, I'm not doing the surgery. My dad said "Dr. Mitchell, I didn't mean to offend you." Dr. Mitchell said "I don't get offended," said he wasn't doing the surgery and to find someone else, and hung up on my parents. My mom has been off her Plavix for a week and a half in preparation for this surgery.
