This review is for administrators. The floor and surgical ward staff were excellent, and my wife and I are grateful for their care.
However, the hospital has deceptive billing practices. I was surprised by a $9,000 bill for a pathology report from a surgery I had on 6/18/25. My insurance doesn't cover out-of-state pathology, but my surgery was covered. Why does Medical Center use an out-of-state pathology lab? When I was informed I was covered for surgery, no one mentioned the lab work not being covered. Is this legal? Are they required to inform patients about uninsured lab work?
This is a follow up to my original post. I want to thank Medical Center customer support for quick response to my issue. They were able to fix the software program and corrected all issues. She was extremely courteous and helpful. I apologize I can not remember her name but I truly appreciate her concern and support.
Medical center has a quality employee and please let her know how valuable she is.
Thank you
Don

I had a loved one in this hospital for several days. We had some good nurses that were very helpful. The communication between doctors and family members is absolutely horrible. I asked everyday to be contacted when the doctor come in or have the doctor to call me after their rounds, my loved one was not able to comprehend what the doctor was asking or saying because of a medical issue. So the doctor would speak with them and that's it, I never received information on tests that where ran, why my loved one was having these medical episodes, if there was damage done. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was told to us. So now my loved one has been discharged and we have no answers. The doctor was going to discharge my loved one home because obviously that would be their first choice, my loved one had to have constant help with walking and caring of themselves. I had spoke with someone saying they needed to have some rehab before I felt safe for them to move about independently. Thankful for the social worker who listened to me and understood that the best thing for my loved one was to go to a rehab to get strength back. I do not like giving bad reviews but this has left with me with a ton of unanswered questions. Communicating with the patient and their loved ones is so very important and making sure everyone understands what is going on and knows the treatment plan. But the doctors has failed to communicate!

I was admitted to the hospital after having a procedure performed in same day surgery. I ended up spending about 6 days in the hospital. From the time I was admitted to the time of discharge, I was treated, helped and supported by the most professional staff, I have ever met. From the Doctors, Nurses and Nurse Techs, everyone there was caring, understanding and supportive of your needs I seen Doctors daily with an updated of my health. Everything was explained in a manner which I could understand. Spending most of the time with the Nurses and Nurse Techs, you have a true sense that you are their number one concern. They make you comfortable, answer your questions, even talk with you if you need someone to talk to. I wish I could thank everyone individually for the support and kindness ,you all showed me during my hospital stay

1st I know this place can get busy but the er was a joke! The lady at the front desk of er wouldn't hardly talk at all.. like it killed her to speak.. the nurses in er was nice.. one got back in er area for room.. my mother was placed in a hallway like a vet office I was in total shock of how they had no regards to her personal safety asking her question about her phone numbers.. social security number and anyone can hear these so good way for someone to steal her info plus to ask a woman to lift there shirt up in the middle of a hallway that everyone was walking down to put her heart monitor on was appalling. I have never seen people kelpt in a hallway like dogs.. once we got admitted. It was like they just decided to take hours and hours and hours to even let u know what's happing. The nurse on her night shift was awsome.. but she sat there for almost 3 days with just blood work.. and iv.. wasn't told anything. Being Montered even after her heart levels was down.. and this was one of worst parts.. getting a guest food tray was the hardest thing to get in this whole hospital. Acted like it was the world's biggest sin.. got the food tray 2 times and that was bc a nurse seen a extra and she worked hours to even get approve for guest tray.. now shift changes and moring comes no food again was told by staff have to do al the work again with new nurse.. food delivery woman said I will not feed u ur not on list.. and the nurse before moring shift had worked to get a guest tray. Like food was the hardest thing to get into there.. like it was drugs. I have been to other hospitals that never ever had such trouble getting food or help getting a guest tray when ur in there with a family member.. this place was ridiculous. I'll never ever bring my mother back there again. And I hope that I never have to come there bc I be afraid they take 10 hours yo notice ur already dead. I had taught highly of this hospital from what I b heard from others but they must been really out there minds to think it's a good hospital. It might not be this way on other wings of the hospital but worst experience I had seen.. plus my mother sat there in a bed that had blood on it from her I've the whole entire time she was there. Never ever once did anyone change the sheets on her bed.. not one rag to was her face. No towels to shower. Plus it wad to nasty to step in. Very disappointed in this place

Not trying to be hateful but me and my mother came to the ER today at 5 pm. Her BP was 211/110 and she has had history of heart attacks and she had a quadruple bypass surgery not even two full months ago. We were left in the waiting room for 4 hours before we decided to leave and go to Greenview. Greenview got us in within 5 minutes of being there. I understand being a busy hospital and there are things that take precedence but she could have very well been having a heart attack and your staff did nothing for her but take her vitals and tell her to go sit down. We only came to your hospital because you have a heart floor. Won't make that mistake again.
