My fiance went for a surgery on 12/2/25 (open wedge osteotomy) and had a bad post-op experience by the surgeon (Dr Hollenbeck). 1. Early this year he did a surgery on her and only gave tylenol and ibuprufen. She was in so much pain, sad during the second visit the doctor insisted that she gave a stronger pain killer but that was not true coz the pharmacy had no records. 2. The doctor never explained any post-op plans or the results of the surgery to her. We were left so confused and had to try contact his PA several times to share with us post-op notes and plans. 3. The doctor was not empathetic and insisted on discharging same day after the surgery, this is after she was in so much pain and could not even go home since she never had anyone to attend to her (she lives alone). 4. They never approved her for rehab care as she never had anyone at home to take care of her immediately after surgery this is after explaining to the surgeon. 5. Currently she is in alot of pain 10/10 and unable to sleep at home. Aparently she is told theres no much they can do concerning her pain. She is unable to sleep and seems her pain is not any of the surgeons concern. 6. She was not prescribed proper post op plans especially on using walker and the toilet commode. She had to ask arround on the proper ones to use. Overall she had a very bad experience with the surgeon and the hospital in general. If asked she would have done the surgery somewhere else. Right now i had to miss work and nurse her at home. She is in alot of pain and i cant do anything concerning it. This is so devastating to see a loved one healing in so much pain at home with little to no support from the doctor.

I am only giving a 2 based on cleanliness. Considering the lack of cleanliness was in the nicu 3rd floor, cleanliness is not optional in my opinion. The floors are filthy, the splatter on the back of the wall, the moldy shower curtain and the over all cleanliness was simply not here. I went to get cleaning supplies and cleaned the room for my daughter myself. The nurses asked for cleaning to come and it doesn't happen. They are equally as frustrated. Sad that either workers don't want to work or wages aren't enough to entice people to work. Who knows the reason.

My experience at Wesley Medical Center was positive. There was plenty of parking and registration was prompt and smooth. The nurse/technician (Virginia) who facilitated the scan was amazing! She was caring, professional and knowledgeable. If I had to say anything on the negative side, I wish I had been given more details as to what to expect regarding the scan ahead of time. I thought I'd be basically in and out as was the case with other scans. I ended up being there for about three hours. It worked out fine, but I just wish I knew it was going to take that long because there needs to be a 90 minute wait gap between takes. All good though.

In for hip replacement. Felt really good about both the pre-op and post-op care. Personnel were very good to deal with. Once I was removed to a room, I felt like the level of care and communication really dropped off. The nurses set up BP machine and IV, and then never checked back. IV was kinked and not flowing. Also , pressed call button for assistance going to the restroom, and there was no response. My wife had to unhook the machine and help me in and out of bed. Asked the nurses that afternoon around 1:30 when I would be discharged and was told they were waiting on PT to come by - PT had been there at 11:30 that morning. I had to eat before I could be dismissed also so we requested a meal. Took nearly 1.5 hours for the meal to show up at the room -we thought we'd been forgotten about so my wife spent a lot of money on vending machines just trying to get something in me. Had not eaten for nearly 18 hours due to early morning surgery. I've lead large employee groups my entire life, and I realize it can be challenging - especially in today's labor markets. I want to reiterate that I felt the pre-op and post op care were exceptional - the problem was on the recovery floor. I've had multiple experiences with various surgeries in many hospitals in Kansas and the care and communication on the recovery floor in Wichita may be the worst I've every experienced.

My husband and I loved our experience of delivering at the birth care suites! All the staff were incredibly caring and attentive. We especially loved having Lori as our labor and delivery nurse. We are so happy with the whole experience and couldn't be more grateful!
