Had Echocardiogram. Hadn't met my deductible for the year and sent me a nice $2500+ bill for an outpatient procedure conducted by a rad tech. Never once was I given an estimate of cost prior to the service, so the charge completely cought me off guard. KU should have had financial services discuss prior to my scheduled visit which was scheduled about a month out. They are charging me a HOSPITAL facility fee of $4,075 of which my insurance had a discount of $973.92 and the other portion ($640.40) was covered. How can I be charged a hospital fee of $4,075 when I didn't go to the hospital? So confused. Person I spoke with from billing seemed to have no idea either.

Visited a doctor on referral from my other doctor to check my heart, Dr. Martin .... the cardiologist ordered heart monitor and echo cardiac stress test
I received the monitor and wore it for 3 weeks, did the echo stress test on 3/8
They told me I get the result by 13-14 Th
I called on 18th they put me on his nurse messaging
I left a message for a return call
Nothing on 18th
I called on 19th same
I called on 20th told the receptionist about last 2 not returned messages I left
She said she will leave a message for someone else
Whole day passed by , nothing, nada
Today I also waited all day
These people don't even return calls ..
I don't think anyone should use their no service services. A cardiology service for a big operation like KU this rude and disorganized is unacceptable
UPDATE:
Today is 3/25 I talked to Linda the receptionist 3 times, first time she said she will have nurse call me back, nurse didn't. Second time She said Oh, nurse called you last Thursday left message. She lied so did the nurse, my iphone shows all my calls and messages. None from this place was on my phone. Then she said someone else will call me, no one did. I called about 4.15 PM and again she said she will connect me with someone to talk to me, guess what? I was listening to phone ringing for 5 minutes 35 seconds, no one picked up. I called back same Linda picked up the phone and said oh, someone will call you. I said I have had it. No one called me. Its 5:15 Monday 3/25 I can't get anyone to give me the result of all the tests that was done on me. Nothing, Nada!
Think about it, if you were their patient with real issues, (not that I may not have any real issues) and be treated like this, how would you feel?
There has to be others providing the same service who actually care for their patients and customers. Shame on the University of Kansas
UPDATE; Today 3/26 I went to the location personally and asked for the results of my tests, well one wasn't ready, the monitor, but the results for the test done on 8th was, a lady took me to a room, gave me the report and asked why am I upset, I explained the calls, no responses, she said they called me twice, then I showed her my mobile phone, she checked the calls and messages, didn't find any from her office, she then called my phone to make sure it rings, it did. Then she agreed that I had a legitimate issue. Suggested to have their customer service person to call me and I told her I left them a message yesterday and the also haven't called me back. I finally got my results 18 days after the test, after 6 phone calls and I had to go there in person. This was my experience with this office.
Update 4/8/19
So as of today I don't have the result of my monitoring. I sent the instrument back 2 weeks ago. No one called me. I saw a bill to my insurance company for over $8600 dollars that included over 2400 in Pharmacy (I don't know what that was, I was never given drugs unless the stuff they injected in me for echo test.) ...
