Started off like it was going to be good....epic fail.... I've had HNP since I was 16. Managed fairly well but getting sick of just changing meds. Went to Heartland and was informed I needed different meds and would be having a ECG and Renal Ultrasound performed. I was excited because looked like it was being looked into in Sept. Well that was about as exciting as it got... fast forward to before thanksgiving on follow up my BP had doubled and I was told let's in tease the meds and we'll follow up in 3 months. I asked about testing and the blamed my insurance of not giving authorization. 2 days later after calling there doctor on staff 4 times no answer finally got a returned phone call on my way to ER. BP was 180/120 and they were trying all they could to get it down. Ended up leaving on addition medication and followed up again with Heartland the next day. Was giving more medication and told we still need authorization and you need to follow directions. Never once didn't. So called my insurance IN THE WAITING ROOM to ask what the deal was with not authorization of test, my member services lady for insurance 3 way called Heartland staff to ask where the referral was on a recorded line and they told her HEARTLAND HASNT SENT ANY REFERRALS OUT FOR ME 3 MONTHS LATER!!!!! AND THEY WOULD GET YOU IT SOMETIME WHEN THEYRE NOT SO BUSY. non the less fired the Cardiologist at Heartland and found another one surprisingly I'm on 1 med, and my level is better now than ever. Already had all test done and follow up in a month with no issues. ALL THAT DONE 3 days after I fired Heartland, already had more done in 3 days then 3 months
