LAWSUITS should happen!! IF YOU have been neglected at this hospital & have suffered for it with proof like I have (recorded conversations of them lying & more without their consent as this a a ONE consent state), I would get a contingency lawyer & SUE! You have 2 yr to do this. After I dealt with INCOMPETENCE at the ER, telling me I'm okay to go home and care for myself, while bleeding out of the back of my foot after having foot surgery here TWICE; a KIND hospitalist finally helped. The hospital is nice LOOKING, some staff were kind, food okay, nice rooms, yet if you tell them you know something's wrong, report it to a patient advocate, or house nurse, you WILL get treated badly! I cried in pain begging for pain meds many times (ignored even though your told to stay ahead of pain ), kept telling them I have LOTS of allergies (didn't really pay attention see the rash from whatever they put on me, in pics), I had to hop (with a bad spine & foot surgery) to clean my own commode as the tech didn't want to. After being pushed to leave, a social worker said I would have in home healthcare come help me at home, that was a LIE! No one showed, and as an old unit coordinator I SHOULD have checked my discharge instructions (was so tired) as they did not say discharge to in home health. I called & told their social worker that I need help still & she didn't care. So my friend, with no CNA skills, & myself did our best to take care of all needed. I am still suffering years later waiting on a foot surgeon who went to DMU for another surgery in Minneapolis, (preferably a surgeon who went to DMU, best in the WORLD for foot/ankle) MN. DONT bring any loved one here unless you're wealthy, as it's like a $ making machine! I go around EVERYWHERE & tell people AVOID NOT MERCIFUL ONE!! They need to take that cross OFF the bldg, as it means NOTHING to them sadly. Don't like suggesting Allen hospital anymore either, yet they are a bit better. I suggest: MOVING to a real city with actual health care for all. Especially ones that ENCOURAGE the use of med/rec green for pain & more like they did in CO, it helped a LOT! People here are stuck in the past & don't understand that marijuana is WAY better for you than man made drugs! 2 stars, for SOME of the kind staff & nice rooms.

About 3 months ago I put into medical induced coma its like they say hey lets see how long they can go before its to almost to late. The doctor says I wouldn't relax so he or she could look at me throat wt* they have scans or xrays but nope they don't wanna do their jobs I was moved into the trama bay but that wasn't until later in the evening and I came in early in the morning it shouldn't take so long and see what happened because my throat and then I was put into medical induced coma and was in acute respiratory failure. Plus I had to go back a week or 2 because I was struggling to breathe but again was treated like they could careless she knocks me out and then sent me home and I had to do my Epi pen and take Benadryl and the heck I was going to go back. I have sooo many other issues like about if I remember correctly 5 years-ago I went into angioedema and respiratory failure and if it wasn't for that one nurse telling the oncoming doctor her concerned about my breathing the other doctor would have killed me because my throat was almost completely swallowed shut and I had to back because of my breathing problems and I got lucky and got a good doctor he said he thought I had vocal cords disfunction and wanted to admit me for observation and I said NO you guys almost killed me. Damage my vocal cords and why because the first ER doctor almost killed me seriously why do they not give a hoot until its almost to late. I have brain damage because of the lack of oxygen. I can go from being ok to crashing and my stats will be good until im seriously not doing good but I go on but enough is enough. I could have sued so many times but I don't because I'm not one of those people although I've been thinking about it and that makes me sad for some reason. I had a tracheostomy done about 4 years ago and the trach fall out so I went to the ER and this doctor is trying to pry my throat open because it was almost completely closed shut so she's still prying it open didn't give me anything for the severe pain she was causing me so finally she got it open but put a baby trackea part in no xray to see if it was in the correct place and I had to go my ENT and well he wasn't to happy because she put a false passage in. Lets pry open a tiny tiny hole in your neck she sent me home with out any pain medicine lets see how it feels seriously I have been put into medical induced coma 3 different times for Angioedema respiratory failure twice and once was Anaphylactic shock and respiratory failure and have to get really bad before they care. I've also was brought by Ambulance because I lost consciousness no one did anything and I finally woke up hours later sent me home although my balance was so not good and I got home walked in and broke my ankle my tibia and fibula because my balance my body went one way and my ankle went the opposite. I could go but I don't see the since in it. I told my son, my dad and a couple of friends I'm not going back until I get worse i I don't see the since in it If they don't want to do their job then they should just stay home instead of putting peoples health at risk. Seriously I'm that scared to go back to the ER because they don't care and the nurses could careless they just go do whatever and if I'm lucky I'll get a good nurse and doctor that actually cares and gives a hoot about my health but unfortunately thay doesn't happen much. Anyways like I said I could go on but I don't see the since it because nothing is ever done about it.

I have always gotten wonderful care here. However, I have had countless problems with billing through the hospital. And now to top it off I cannot access any of my old medical records due to their switch in system. As like when I had billing issues I get push around to multiple departments and people having to explain the same thing each time and getting no answers on how to clear up the confusion or even get the correct web address to access data. I hate posting bad reviews especially when the health care professionals have always given me such good care but the paper work issues I have had with MercyOne warrant a warning so that future clients have awareness of what they might run into.

It was an amazing experience visiting Mercyone Medical Center today. Everyone was super nice, including all resident doctors, attending physician, nurses, and rest of the staff. Cafeteria had a delicious variety of food, drinks, and salad. The food is pretty cheap too. It was a quiet day at the hospital. Not a lot of patients may be due to the holiday season. Dr. Green is amazing. She toured us pretty much all the units, wards, as well as the emergency department. She was pretty thorough in explaining everything. Love it!

I switched from the VA to Mercy One recently. I was able to have Dr. Nag help me to the place that I needed to be. Dr. Nag took the time to listen to me during my initial visit. There were certain medications that I asked my VA provider to get me off of, and they never made the effort. Dr. Nag was able to get me off of those medications, add new ones, and make me feel much better.
