UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine - Indianola

Great experiences all around, quick in and out, doctors are very friendly and understanding. Most importantly great lab technicians! Last lab at a different location did not go so well. Came back to Indianola for a lab and Kayla made it effortless. Needless to say, best staff I've came across. If you need labs, these women are great!

Would not recommend. The waiting area is great and I've always had positive interactions from the gals at the front desk. Our nurse, Alexa, was also top notch and great at her job..... However, our family had been seeing Dr. Lau for general physicals and sick visits and will not be returning. My biggest issue with him is that he doesn't want to administer any tests or find out what's actually going on or why, and essentially gaslights you into thinking that everything is normal. Multiple times I've gone in sick only to be told, why don't you just see how it goes and come back in a couple of days if you still feel bad. I mean, if I just wanted to have a conversation with someone about how I'm feeling, I'd call my therapist. I went in several times with migraines and other symptoms and he just told me I was dehydrated. Didn't want to do any tests and basically explained away all symptoms and recommended I drink more water. I finally gave up and sought out better support in Des Moines, and what do you know, I have a slew of actual issues going on, none of which involve me being dehydrated. If you do go see him, don't go on a Friday! Our appointment was rushed and he made a mistake when writing the script for the pharmacy and left out a key prescription for my toddler, meaning we couldn't get the care we needed at the time and had to suffer through the weekend with a sick kiddo. :(

We moved to the Indianola area at the end of May and needed to find a new doctor. I was happy there was a Unity Point in town as we went to the one in Waukee before moving. My 3 year old son just saw Dr. Jensen the other day and he was great! He was very personable, wanted to know about my son and our family and was fantastic with my son. We will continue to see him.

Katie Kim is my doctor. She is outstanding in every way. Remembers me and my family. Was able to get me in last minute so I didn't have to pay an urgent care bill.Always friendly and provides the best care. Fixes every issue and problem I have first go around. She's knowledgeable about every medical need I have had and wouldn't go anywhere else. She goes above and beyond always and we couldn't be more thankful for her. Hit or miss on the front desk. Sometimes I find some not exactly pleasant tone on the phone but other than that the staff is exceptional.

Saw Dr. Jensen. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a Dr. In all my years....I will never go back. No bedside manner whatsoever, not a good listener....it was terrible. Had to go to another Dr., which did listen, did care, and did help. My partner sees Dr. Werling in the same office and loves him. I originally tried getting in with him, but he was super busy at the time, so opted for Jensen. After the experience with Jensen, it just didn't sit right. So opted to not go there at all. Werling is popular with some of my family members. If you need to be in Indianola area, and you can get in with him.....he is your best bet.
