About Dr. Gina Mentzer, MD

Gina Mentzer, MD, enjoys all aspects of cardiology, but she's most passionate about helping patients prevent and manage heart disease. She's completed specialized heart failure and transplant training, and she takes great pride in bringing expert cardiac care to smaller western Iowa communities through Methodist's outreach efforts. "The people there become like family," said Dr Mentzer, who grew up in central Nebraska. "You're part of their community, even if you're only there one day a month."

Fabulous cardiologist! I have been a patient of Dr. Mentzer since 2017 in Lincoln, Nebraska. I became her patient while hospitalized for a pulmonary embolism. My aortic aneurysm appeared larger than previous images had shown. Dr. Gina Mentzer took the bull by the horns and has been monitoring me and my health since then. When she relocated to the Council Bluffs area, I followed her. Her comprehensive care compassion, and encouraging personality are a winning combination! She has become like family, and I don't mind driving 70 miles for my appointments. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Gina Mentzer to anyone needing a fantastic and thorough cardiologist.
