I was seen at St Luke's Hospital by attending physician Dr David Dierks for nausea related to my right knee replacement. I found Dr Dierks to be very professional and compassionate and I felt very well taken care of by all the staff there, including Brenda who was the admissions nurse and Lance who also saved me yet another visit the following day. It's so comforting to know that when it is needed to go to the ED, that St Luke's is there to help and make you feel comfortable and confident that you will be well taken care of. Thanks St Luke's!!!

I have been in the ER for 5 hours waiting to be treated for a possible broken left wrist and a possible broken rib. I have had x-rays, a CT scan, and blood taken. But have not seen a doctor yet. My husband was told there was 1 patient ahead of me, a little while later he was told there were 2 patients ahead of me, then he was told the doctor hadn't reviewed my tests yet. I brought my own ice and pillow to rest my wrist on. What happens to patients who don't think ahead enough to bring ice and a pillow? Am I not in enough pain to be seen? Do I need to scream loud in pain to be seen? I understand there are people in worse shape than I am. Maybe more staff is needed on a Monday night in ER? I haven't seen any of the staff for 2 hours! I will update this review once my visit in the ER is actually complete.

At the ER right now. They are not very personable. The nurse said she would be back for a urine sample. Didn't come back. My fiancee had to use the bathroom. Girl comes in. This isn't my pod. I don't know what he is supposed to do. She gets a plastic urinal and says here pee in this and leaves. I had to help him up. Unhook things and help him off the bed. Then help him back to bed, and hook things back up. Not happy with this place.

My daughter went to the emergency room at Unity Point. She received great treatment from the staff. The horror began when I had to deal with their billing department in order to get a receipt for the visit. I spent hours on the phone with them and 4 separate phone calls. After spending time talking with one guy for half an hour, he said he needed to transfer me to central billing where I sat on hold for 20 minutes. The recorded message said to press 1 to retain your place and receive a call back. Pressing 1 did nothing. Finally just hung up. Called back and spoke with another representative. She asked me for my details, instead of the for the patient's details. Then, when I gave her my daughter's name and birthdate, she said there was no record of us being there and there was nothing she could do. Another wasted half hour of my time. I called the E.R. but they said I had to contact medical records. I called them and left a message. My credit card statement shows the bill being paid, but getting a receipt of the bill which would take 30 seconds with any other company has now taken hours and I still don't have it.

The nurses and techs were the best I've ever had. Cassidy, Emily and Olivia were amazing. I will never use cedar falls or Waterloo hospitals again.
