Maya Kommineni, M.D., is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where she also earned her Master of Public Health. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Boston University Medical Center, after which she became an attending physician at South Shore Hospital, a Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard teaching affiliate. She continued her training at the University of Chicago Medical Center where she completed her fellowship in cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Kommineni uses a multidisciplinary approach to disease management, including treating hypertension, lipid disorders, heart failure, valvular disease, abnormal heart rhythms, coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.

I really enjoyed talking with Maya. She listened to me and was in no hurry to move me along. She asked all the pertinent questions a good doctor asks. As well as answering my questions. She was very nice and personable. She even has a good sense of humor. Which I like. I will definitely visit her again, along with a very good and polite staff. Michael.
Great directions to the place received from the staff. No trouble finding it. The building is well identified from the outside. There was free balet parking snd the valet was nice, and seemed to enjoy life & his job. He helped me with my walker. Pleasant offices, temperature not too hot or cold, sounded quiet, except for some low murmers of waiting patients chatting. They went out of their way to accommodate me when I turned up a bit early. Staff were competent & friendly. They checked my history & meds with me, knew what test I was supposed to have & did it without any hitches. The physician was friendly, seemed very bright, had already reviewed the papers I brought with me and the info I gave them..it was as if she already knew me. After examining me she talked about the papers & then we made a plan of sorts for another consultation and some further tests in the future, and set a follow up appointment after that is done. Everything felt professional, knowledgeable snd friendly. They'd already run my insurance and I paid what I expected to pay. I like the physician and her staff, and the office itself, easy access for my walker, not a long walk, For a new doctor visit, I'd say it was ideal.
Dr Kommineni is by far the best heart doctor I have had since I had issues in 2019. She is the third one that I've had because two others have left and when I saw her on November 11, 2025, she explained everything on what she wants to do to make sure I live another 30 years. Sat down and drew me pictures. Unbelievable I recommend this doctor to anybody who has heart problems.
Was first meeting with doctor. She was very nice. Had a very caring attitude. Took time to answer questions. All staff were friendly.
Dr Kommineni is not only a Great Dr but also a Great person!! She really listens to you and works with you to come up with a plan! And I love that she doesn't just automatically prescribe medications if there is something else to try first! Her staff is wonderful and very efficient!
