Patient Reviews

Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Facility: Franciscan Health Lafayette (St. Elizabeth) Franciscan Health Lafayette--also known as St. Elizabeth--is, in my opinion, an excellent hospital. Every time I've visited, both myself and my family have been treated with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. The hospital is home to world-renowned surgeons and doctors who not only bring exceptional expertise but also maintain a compassionate bedside manner. The staff across the board is highly qualified, attentive, and dedicated to delivering proper diagnoses and top-tier medical treatment. What stands out most is their commitment to patient well-being. From the moment you walk in, you feel that the team is focused on providing the best possible care. Whether it's a routine visit or a more serious medical need, I've always felt confident and supported. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of medical attention. It's a place where you can trust the staff to prioritize your health and treat you with respect. Thank you to everyone at Franciscan Health Lafayette for your continued excellence. I hope others read this review and feel reassured in making an informed decision about their healthcare.

The worst experience of my entire life. I'd sue if I knew it'd make a difference. The staff was rude. The "doctor" made me clean my own cut. The nurses were awful and again rude and said "you told this doctor *this*" ...and I had never talked to said doctor. A report was signed for me trying to commit me to the psych ward from a doctor that I again had NEVER talked to. They forced me to talk to a psychologist who let me leave because I wasn't suicidal like everyone else at this dumb hospital was telling me. I felt so unsafe in their care. Please NEVER go to this hospital for anything. I don't wish this treatment on anyone. I don't know if it was too many patients or lack or caring or lack of competence or a combo of all but this was AWFUL. I still have nightmares about this place.

Patient

Do not go to Franciscan Lafayette East. The patient care employees are are given way too many patients to take care of. I know one that had 21 patients to take care of. That's giving baths, feeding, turning, helping to the bathroom and everything else they have to do. Patients can not get the care they deserve when they have one person taking care of that many people. Not to mention the physical and mental toll it puts on the employees. No matter how hard they work there's no way they can keep up with all the call lights and everything that needs done. They do this for 12 hrs. This hospital needs to be reported for lack of patient care. Read ER reviews. If your having a heart attack you will be lucky if they don't leave you in the waiting room to die because they consider you a nonemergency. They got 1 star so I could leave this review. They deserve -5 stars.

Patient

I wish i could give them 0 stars, waited almost 5 hours in a packed lobby where people where there before we arrived and were still there after. Pregnant women, diabetics with swollen, blue legs are still waiting even as we left. Tried finding out a wait time and was told "I'm not allowed to tell people" as my gf is losing all feelings in both legs and arms, intense nausea and dizziness. This same thing happened last time when my son hit his temple hard and both that and this are fatal. She is 7 weeks pregnant and they didn't have any urgency whatsoever. If my child dies because of their negligence then i will be taking legal action.

My daughter was dying and they allowed all of the family to crowd into her room and laugh, sing, play music and just love her while she was able to be with us her last two days on earth. They made sure that her spiritual needs were met so that we could send her off with a gentle warmth. I will forever be thankful for the great gift we were afforded by the caring staff at Franciscan Health.
