This was at Baptist Cardiology Group in Jeffersonville IN. So my story goes something like this. Dr Hofelich had been my Cardiologist for several years. He was easy going with a reasonable bedside manner. But he absolutely hated it when you questioned anything medically and I am the kind of person who believes that I am responsible for my own medical care. So I asked quite of few questions during our time together. Mainly based on interpretation of test results, I did become concerned at times if I did not understand and sometimes overreacted before learning the meaning of the test. So when words like Cardiomyopathy (heart failure) I would naturally become concerned. I think anybody would. This patten of some negative test results continued over the years. I had 4 heart Cath's done while under his care the latest in 2022-2023. All of the Caths came back negative which is really good and indicated at age 57-59 I had no detectable arterial blockage of any kind. Despite these results my LVEF or Left Ventricle Ejection Fraction was abnormally low which indicates Cardiomyopathy better known as heart failure. So of course I was really concerned about that. After repeated Echocardiograms, and even Cardiac MRI's it was still low and continued that way for at least 3 years. During this time I repeatedly asked the good doctor why medically this was the case. His learned answer was I don't know. Well I don't know became his answer for all my cardiac problems. I'm sorry but as a patient in heart failure I don't know becomes an unacceptable answer. So after testing and more testing the results were the same I was definitely in heart failure. Which is very disconcerting considering my own mortality was the potential end result. The Baptist network used Epic software for communicating with your doctor. Through what's called the portal. I recently had blood work done by a different physician that revealed my Iron saturation number was at 6% which according to Labcorp because the minimum for a male is 20% and anything <10% was considered critical. So I proceeded to get on MyChart to send him the results which I had done multiple times in the past. I logged in and tried to leave a message but the good doctors name was not listed so I called MyChart technical support to fund out why I couldn't leave Dr Hofelich a message they proceeded to tell me he had blocked my ability to leave him a message. At this point I was perplexed and upset so I called the office and I got a response through MyChart from his assistant. Asking me to send the results for hi review. I explained that because I could not leave a message I was not going to attach the results. I ended up posting them anyway. But I did have a few not so nice things to say about the good doc. I used language that was mistakenly taken as threatening which was a stretch at best. Then I received an electronic letter stating he was terminating me as a patient with absolutely no explanation as to why. So finally I talked to the office manager and she told me that he felt threatened for his safety. I responded through his assistant because I could not get him direct. He did not even have the common courtesy to call me and talk with me in person. He basically was a chicken to face me. All I wanted was a simple explanation. It sort of snowballed out of control he canceled my upcoming appointment and that was that. So in summation I was blocked from accessing my doctor with no notification what so ever. Simply because I questioned some medical results. I became upset acted poorly they used this as an excuse to terminate me. I did apologize for my behavior because I was out of line. In the meantime a little back story I had just lost my wife of 16 years unexpectedly so I was definitely not myself and still in serious grief after being diagnosed with PTSD and Severe Depression. Of course none of this was taken in to consideration at all. And the fact re

He is my mom's cardiologist. She is very pleased with him. She feels he takes time to check out her problems when other Dr's don't because she is 90 and some Dr's just brush her off.
