Franciscan Physician Network Cardiology Crown Point

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Pamela. I had a 3:45 PM appointment and called ahead to let the office know I was running 15 minutes late due to traffic coming from the city. I was told that I had a 20-minute grace period and that Dr. Pamela would still see me. I arrived exactly 15 minutes late, but was mistakenly sent to the wrong floor by the hospital. By the time I got to the correct location, I was still within the time I was told was acceptable. The front desk staff was kind and understanding -- they checked me in and even apologized for the mix-up. However, Dr. Pamela refused to see me, despite the fact that I was her last patient of the day and no one was scheduled after me. I drove over an hour and 20 minutes for this appointment, only to be turned away after doing everything I could to communicate in advance. I even asked if I could be rescheduled sooner, but the next availability they offered was six months out. This felt extremely unfair and inconsiderate. I would not recommend Dr. Pamela based on this.

Dr Torabi is fantastic and the level of care received was phenomenal. My husband ended up needing 2 stents on an emergency basis and we are grateful for him.

Unfortunately, we have not had a great experience with this office. I think the office staff is extremely rude and unaccommodating. The doctors must be overworked, Dr. Samyn is a nice guy, but when he walked into my 75 year old mother's appointment, he was clueless that she was the patient. He had to ask questions to understand why she was there. His office asked her to schedule a post inpatient follow-up and he didn't even know she had been inpatient. My mom had an procedure with Dr. Samyn in February of 2020 and he was supposed to follow up with Dr. Sagalovsky, it took us calling 4 times to get any answers, and the office person said - "Dr. Sagalovsky is busy, and your mom's case is in his inbox" It took about 3 weeks to get that answer. When attempting to follow-up again, we were told due to COVID, they weren't scheduling any non-emergent appointments. (She had 100% blockage). We waited until Mid-May and called back to see what she was supposed to do and the staffs response was Oh, the notes say Dr. Samyn was consulting with a Vascular doctor. They gave me the name and promised to follow-up. I called again a week later and was told that they hadn't connected yet, so I called that doctor myself and made an appointment. 4 days later Dr. Samyn's staff called back to say they would generate a referral. (My mom saw the other doc two days earlier) Honestly, this is the third strike. I can't believe we actually let it go on this long. Doesn't seem like the standard of care is the utmost importance.

If this cardiologist really cared about his patients he would have made a point to see me before the medical procedure. They should have contacted me way before the day before the procedure to let me know that I would have to come in. How can they say they care about you if they won't work with you or other doctors to make sure that you are able to get the procedures you need as scheduled.

Dr. Hameed checked my bp that previous doctors had done and indicated same meds. He indicated that I had a heart murmur, did not explain, and it was "Have a nice day," and out the door. Saw his PA in four months, and same old same old. Got a notice for another check up with PA ; no explanations. I'm not doing that number again.
