Franciscan Health Crown Point

One month ago I delivered my third baby with Franciscan and it was my best experience yet. I had amazing night nurses, Sarah Cervantes and Ashley Wood. They were amazing advocates who made me feel comfortable--their humor lit up the room as well (Sarah took the time to visit me one more time before I left the hospital to meet my baby and to check in with me which made me feel special). Tim Dykstra was the one who administered my epidural--I have never had such a smooth experience with anesthetics! I'm thankful for him listening to my previous experiences and taking his time making sure that it wasn't a painful process. Dr. Monk was my doctor during the nighttime. I had not met him before that evening but he made me feel comfortable. He also stepped in quickly when my baby needed assistance while still in utero--thank you Dr. Monk! By the morning time my nurse was Lindsey Henry --she's the one who coached me through labor. Lindsey listened & coached me through like a rockstar! With the help of Lindsey and Dr. Weiss, I delivered another beautiful & healthy baby. Thank you Franciscan for a great team!

Who would've known a simple procedure would turn into a disaster. When you're asked before surgery if you are allergic to anything and you say derma bond... what makes it ok for the surgeon to put DERMA BOND GLUE instead of stitches . I instantly began to react. Went to the ER, prescribed me meds that gave me shortness of breath within 2 hrs. Doctor told me to TAKE THE GLUE OFF MYSELF. I was not able to take it off. It wouldn't budge no matter what I was able to use. Doctor claims NO ONE in the ER has experience with derma bond...why!? You go 5 WHOLE DAYS with no proper treatment because you either a.)have no one in the er to help b.)you can't contact your doctor for shit. You finally arrive to the outpatient center on day 5 AFTER going to another hospital BEGGING for help, they called my doctor and told them to send me back. So I went back... (yeah sorry Dr.so and so already left for the day) HUH!? YOU KNEW YOU HAD SOMEONE COMING. How about we do better and PAY ATTENTION to what we're doing and NOT neglecting your patients. There is no reason for a recovery after an appendectomy be this painful. This experience has been nothing but cruel.

I had a total knee replacement on December 5th 2025. Everyone was soo kind and helpful. My preop nurse in particular Cheri was absolutely wonderful! Thanks to everyone for your kindness and helpfulness!

Dr Omar Abuzeid seems like a wonderful Dr but I'm unfortunately will have to go somewhere else. Like other reviews something is wrong with their staff. I'm in the process of switching over all my doctors. I recently have a new health insurance. And the ratings for high risk is much better with this Dr. I have witnesses that heard this conversation. 2 calls they want my previous doctor to fill out forms and I was told they need to verify my insurance. My previous DR this doesn't make sense. If I'm leaving a place I'm not asking them to do tons of extra work for me. They have been wonderful. I feel bad to leave. However I need to put my baby first. I have all my doctors switched including other specialists like a heart DR. This was the last one. Terry over talked me, would not listen to me. I reaped 2x what are the options for me to become a patient. She said there is no I have to have my previous DR jump through all the hoops she named. I explained so you are telling me I cant get a referral from my Franciscan primary care or midwife? My husband and I heard it. She firmly said no. Our conversation turned to argueing she was not professional neither was I. I told her that makes no sense. I told her I'm filing a complaint with Franciscan health that they won't take referrals from their own doctors. There is no reason it had to go like this. If she was willing to listen instead they f dismissing me and taking out her bad day on me. It could have been solved easily. I do not work there, what is common sense to me is that she should have suggested if she bothered to listen. Is tell me after I have my records and first appointment with the Franciscan midwife that I should have them send over a referral. ( Since they don't take the paper copy I have from my previous DR. What kind of person wants to fight with a high risk pregnant woman? I can't risk the stress. If this was s how their staff talks to high risk patients. It's not worth the risk to my baby. Everyone is so wonderful where I was they just are not trained or have a high risk Dr. I think I'm just better off with that. Being yelled at just because I want toale an appointment and get proper instructions as to the correct process. Is disappointing. I'm also posting this on the YouTube video that lead me down this path to earn others.

Been through numerous of their departments over the course of my pregnancy including maternal fetal medicine, ER and radiology and EVERY single individual i worked with have been so very professional, kind, and knowledgeable. I LOVE the fransican team at the hospital. Thank you si much for making such a scary time so easy. I really appreciate everyone who's been on my team, even the front desk has been amazing.
