Patient
On behalf of my 81-year-old mother, I scheduled a cardiology appointment with Dr. Vinay Arora about two months in advance, crucial for a potential surgery impacting her mobility. On September 16, 2024, after a lengthy drive and overcoming significant challenges due to her ovarian cancer, we arrived only to be turned away. The nursing staff and Dr. Arora refused to see her because we were 14 minutes late, exceeding their 10-minute no-show policy. Despite explaining her condition and the delay caused by a freight train, the staff was unhelpful and rude. A male nurse smirked and dismissed our request for an exception. Other patients in the waiting room noticed the poor treatment. We were told no other doctors were available, and overheard staff mocking the situation. The receptionist apologized and ensured we wouldn't be charged for the missed appointment. Disheartened, we decided to find another doctor. The treatment my mother received was unacceptable, showing a lack of compassion and professionalism.
