Over past 15+ years, I have utilized Dr. Zaveri as both my cardiologist and primary doctor. Dr. Zaveri goes out of his way to spend as much time with each appointment as needed by the patient to ask questions and address any concerns with his medical expertise. I feel confident with my medical needs being handled by Dr. Zaveri. When I need medical expertise in another particular area, Dr. Zaveri has recommended specialists keeping knowledge of all of their assessments to create complete continuity with my medical care. I recommend Dr. Zaveri and his staff to anyone seeking a personalized medical interaction with their doctor.

I went to the emergency room due to high blood pressure, shortness of breath and multiple premature ventricular contractions in a 30 second to 1 minute period. I was monitored for a few hours. Apparently it was concerning enough to the physicians in the ER that I kept having these episodes to where they wanted me to stay overnight. So I ended up getting admitted to the cardiac telemetry unit.
I didn't meet Dr. Zaveri till the next day toward the end of the day about 5PM-ish. I was possibly his last patient of the day. He didn't take the time to listen and you can tell he was in a rush. He tried to quickly find a simple reason for why I was having premature ventricular contractions.
He proceeded to ask me I have heartburn or indigestion. I told him no. He said that can cause the chest pains. Recommend I take a medication in the omeprazole family. I told him I'm currently taking a 2MG dose daily but for different reasons. He told me to take it twice a day instead.
When I tried to explain to him how I was on a 40MG dose in the beginning but it created certain side effects so my gastroenterologist cut it down to 20MG and it's been a breeze since that change. Dr. Zaveri told me to change the brand. He was so quick to try and come up with other solutions other than trying to figure out why I was having chest pains???
I mean I've been seeing my gastroenterologist for over five years and he has taken great care of me and now this doctor whom I just met (literally) wants me to switch my medication up. "Change the brand but keep it in the same family". WHAT?!
That's not it!!!
I mentioned I was on mobic and he runs to that and says how that medication my endocrinologist prescribed to me can cause PVC.
Dr. Zaveri- Maybe drink to much soda
Me- I don't even drink soda.
Dr. Zaveri- Maybe you drink too much tea.
Me- look, if I drank tea, it's diet green tea that's caffeine and sugar free!
Dr. Zaveri- Do you have high blood pressure because that also can cause premature ventricular contractions.
Me- No, actually my hospital frequently checks my labs and my last lab were 2 months ago which didn't show any indication that I'm at risk nor have high blood pressure.
Dr. Zaveri- Well you are overweight and this could be the beginning of having high blood pressure issues and having high blood pressure can cause premature ventricular contractions.
As far as the premature ventricular contractions, I was so appalled and insulted that not only did I start having multiple episodes of premature ventricular contractions due to anger and frustration but this man almost took me out of my element.
Out of all that, I just wanted him to go since obviously had other important things to tend to. He prescribed me a beta blocker. A medication that helps reduce your blood pressure and helps slow your heart rate down. Eventually I had to take it while staying another night for observation while on the beta blocker. The night nurse noticed my last three blood pressure readings kept getting lower and lower that she didn't want to give me the beta blocker till she consulted with a physician.
Not only has his doctor not listen to my concerns and insulted me but now he's created a problem that needs to be fixed before I can even get discharged.

I cannot stress highly enough - DO NOT let this doctor treat you. I am so disappointed, I truly don't know where to start. Please, just heed my warning. As an example, the person who handles the billing, who I believe is a wife/family member, works only odd hours a couple of days a week. Be prepared for a formidable languange barrier. Beyond that, a miscoding in her billing was denied by BC/BS and showed up in collections, 2.5 years later. After appeals, the insurance company flat-out said that the same care under a different code would have been covered. Talking to Dr. Zaveri's office was like talking to a wall. They deny any and all wrongdoing and let the patient get stuck in the middle. I would NEVER again deal with this doctor or his associates.

He took care of my mother in law when he worked at SBLHC in Mattoon, IL, and she loved him! He was very thorough, always listened to her, and her condition improved under his care. Dr. Zaveri put in both her first and second pacemakers. She is now 90 years old and doing great! We miss him!
