Most of the staff on the unit I was admitted to are nice. However, one of the clinicians told another patient I was part of the problem. She also called me a liar when I tried to open up about how I didn't want to go back to where I was living due to my mother being abusive towards me. She also said I was faking one of my conditions. I also had one of the doctors say I was trying to sabotage my discharge on purpose even though I was genuinely trying to get help.
Oh, and they somehow managed to lose my car keys on a locked unit and did the bare minimum to look for them. The unit manager never called me back about reimbursing me since I had to pay $500 for a replacement key fob, not to mention I lost three sentimental keychains that were on the original key fob, two from deceased relatives of mine.
But other than that, the CNAs, RNs, and MHAs on the unit were incredible. They were kind, understanding, and respectful. The other doctor on the unit is way better than the first one I had. But seriously, I don't plan on going back because of how the first doctor and the clinician treated me while I was there. They made me feel like trash.

Went in sat for chest pains. Nobody could figure out what was wrong. Even though I had been there for multiple occasions for the same reason. Other than X-rays. Or cat scans I was left in my room with the promise the doctor will be coming back to talk to me. The doctor never came back than they discharged me for "anxiety" called me back Monday with a proper diagnosis informing me this whole time I was battling an infection. And not anxiety. No antibiotics. Nobody but the nurses were actually helpful. No breathing treatment. No medicine to help me get comfortable. I was screaming and crying in pain. They did nothing but discharge me. One Mis diagnose cost me thousands of dollars. I will be contacting an attorney over this matter.

If you are really sick enough to go to ER don't go Carle you are not seen by a doctor only a NP or PA that really do not know enough and worse yet really do not care. It breaks my heart where healthcare in Peoria Illinois has gone. St Francis sure isn't better for sure you are just a # there. Too sad. She has stage 3 kidney disease and was given an old IV med for pain that I as a nurse knows is very hard on the kidneys. I questioned this choice and her history of kidney disease I was told by her nurse her chart does not show she has kidney disease well I know that is incorrect she has seen a kidney specialist for years. We have gone so opioid crazy we can't even give a patient a safe med for pain in ER as I said medicine in Peoria Illinois has gone totally crazy. I was questioning this choice of drug with her history of kidney disease and the charge nurse came and told me I would be banned to the waiting room. They may destroy what kidney function she has left but don't question the care received by a NP. I also asked for a doctor and was told they called him so apparently there wasn't a doctor in the ER at all at that time. The nurse at the nursing home later that nite figured out she had shingles. Probably an LPN KNEW MORE THAN THAT NP in ER. Soo very very very sad and horrible

Wish I could remember the names of the numerous people that cared for my mother between August 28-30. In the Crescent section on Floor 7 and the anesthesia section down below.
The care I witnessed for my mom made me truly sure she was in the best hands to be in. From getting help to use the bathroom, the food being made and brought, the blood sugar monitoring, the informative details on how to proceed, to being wheelchair escorted out of the building.
I don't know why this place has a low review score but, if I was ever to be in the area and transferred here my concerns would disappear and be overcome with relief knowing Im in good hands with such knowledgeable, gentle and professional staff here.

I had a heart ablation here after getting A-Fib and has been the worst experience of my life after the fact. Even during the process they essentially wrote me off as crazy until my heartrate went into the 220s. I have now been diagnosed with POTS which they told me after atleast 4 visits to the ER every time that it wasn't that and that it was all anxiety. After my ablation I had lots of other issues directly after I had my heart ablation and was written off essentially every time to just "go to my GP" and had basically no heads up as to what could happen after the fact, they simply sent me home. I have had to go to OSF to even get any help at all. I absolutely despise Carle health and the way they treat people like cattle. I have taken it into my own hands to figure out what my issues are and am absolutely disgusted by how I was treated being there.
