NEVER EVER COME HERE. I stayed overnight here from being transferred from another hospital and when I woke up got vitals and blood done and took medicine but after that they took forever to come into the room and barley checked on me, it took them 30 minutes to answer when I pressed the call button. So I had to wait hours for the GI doctor to see me and when she finally came in she only asked why I was there then just said that she was staying out of it and not going to do anything. Then I had to wait for the paperwork and my nurse or CNA wouldn't come in, someone different came in took my IV out, brought a form for me to sign saying I was refusing treatment, when the only thing I received was nausea medicine. I was then told if I signed the form refusing treatment my insurance wouldn't cover it, even tho I never received any treatment besides the 2 nausea pills I took and my insurance answered faster than someone there could get me paperwork to leave. I had to wait forever to get my diet changed to eat, and it took a while for them to even call in medicine to the pharmacy. I am very disappointed with the lack of patient care considering I had to wait for 30 minutes for my call light to be answered. And I feel uncomfortable considering a patient with an id braclet and an iv in came into my room asking me for a cigarette. Very disappointed, and I would give zero stars if I could.

Gave birth to my son 6 days ago, we were discharged 2 days after he was born and told he needed a follow up check on his bilirubin level within the next couple days. The doctor told us there would be an order put in and we would recieve a call to come in as well. We decided to go for the follow up on our own because we had not recieved the call yet, only to be told there was no order put in for that so there was nothing for them to do for us. Went to his first appointment with his primary where they proceeded to send us to Morris ER, where he was then life flighted to Lurie's Children hospital because his bilirubin level was now at a life threatening level. I will never take my children to OSF in Ottawa again. The real kicker is, they called us the morning after our son was life flighted telling us they have the order for his bilirubin check. Never had a problem until now but this was far from a slight inconvenience. This could have killed our child.

Dr Kasik bad bed side manor, used profanity with my 12 year old son "shit". We felt rushed, nurse and doctor didnt seem to really care. Chart was never reviewed by provider before visit. Doctor though son was 16 years old. Put cast on son and didnt seem to look to far in to his pain, never addressed shoulder injury. Told us water proof cast csnt go in a pool, then cast texh said it can after other cast was on. Did not feel genuinely care for by provider or rude nurse. Got second opinion at UW where they removed cast immediately and said the tissue needs to heal to allow the bone to heal correctly so put him in a tongue splint. UW also listened to our concerns of shoulder, xrayed, examination and found AC grade one injury and provided how to care for it. When osf doctor didnt even care to look in to the shoulder pain at all. Horrible service, Horrible provider that did NOT provide the best care for patients well being and future for hwaling and growth! Just slapped a cast on and called it a day like it was no big deal. Didnt offer pain meds for broken wrist or shoulder pain, did not tell us to Ice it or elevate it. HORRIBLE!!!!!! Ottawa OSF Orthopedic would rate less than one star for this provider and his nurse. Talk about feeling RUSHED and like you dont care about the patient!

OSF Healthcare has really went downhill. I would suggest any other hospital over Ottawa (if you even want to call it a hospital anymore, more like a poorly run urgent care). What a terrible experience. Shockingly i did get into a room fairly quick but it was well over 30 minutes until the doctor even came in the room and they were extremely slow tonight. The staff was very unprofessional and I felt my health was not a priority. After blood work it was nearly 2-1/2 hours until someone even came back in the room. Trust me the last thing I wanted to do was go to the emergency room yet I was treated like just another patient with mysterious symptoms we are unable to diagnose. Its pretty bad if I'm writing a review because I'm never write reviews. Im not speaking out of anger but more disappointment and concern for the people in our area. I pray at some point we get something better than OSF because overall the emergency rooms, urgent/prompt care, medical offices and what's left of specialists are poorly run.
