Two months ago, our lives were turned upside down when our 22-year-old son was suddenly taken ill and diagnosed with a very rare cancer. Initially, we were at one of the top hospitals in Chicago where I felt we were treated like a number. We were told by a surgeon if the cancer has spread too far they would close him up and ultimately, send him home with hospice. By divine intervention, we were led to Dr. George Salti at Edward Hospital, who not only agreed to take Ryan's case, but stood in the operating room for 12+ hours to save his life. We cannot adequately express our gratitude and admiration at the dedication of this surgeon. To say he went above and beyond, does not even begin to describe the character of this man, both as a surgeon and a human being. Because of Dr. Salti, Ryan is at home, recovering. He has vibrant and happy and enjoying his life, albeit still recovering from a very lengthy surgery. God bless you, Dr. Salti. Because you never gave up, we have our son.

July 2023- Not only was he in a hurry, he was rude and arrogant, insisting there was a mass on my pancreas and he was wrong! Dr Pandolfi, the gastroenterologist that Salti wanted me to see, was on an extended vacation and Salti refused to order the proper tests to rule out pancreatic cancer. He expected me to wait an entire month until Pandolfi returned, for an endoscopy. Having lost my dear brother to pancreatic cancer just a year prior to my appointment, I was well aware of where the pancreas is and what it does. When I relayed this to Salti, he sat back, crossed his arms and said, "Ok, you tell me then." I left his office n tears. I used my deceased brothers medical records and my pcp immediately ordered the same CT scan and MRI that diagnosed my brother's pancreatic cancer. And guess what? Salti was wrong. No mass! The tests revealed a fatty pancreas, no cancer. I then visited the same gastroenterology office at Northwestern that treated my brother. I was told that I did not need an endoscopy as the tests my pcp ordered ( the same tests Salti refused to order) proved that I did not have pancreatic cancer nor was there a "mass" on the head of my pancreas, as Salti insisted. Instead, I was prescribed Prilosec and diagnosed with stomach irritation from using otc nsaids at high doses for arthritis pain. The fatty pancreas was not the cause of my stomach irritation. If I ever need to see an oncologist, it certainly will not be this doctor. Advocate for yourself or your loved one. Don't take what any doctor tells you as gospel, especially this one.

Dr. George Salti, MD it's a very skilled doctor and surgeon. He inspires a sense of confidence and relaxation. More importantly, during examinations he never caused discomfort. Valencia, his office coordinator, is very personable and very accommodating. She's very good at making new patients feel comfortable. And she's also very good at coordinating The activities between the main office and the office across the hall. Thank you Dr. Salti And thank you very much Valencia ( you deserve a bonus)!

Dr. Salti and his entire staff have been among the most professional and caring people I have experienced in the medical field. From the Receptionist, Nurses, Physician's Assistant and Dr. Salti, I have always known I was in the best of hands. On my first visit I had a lot of uncertainty but my diagnosis was treated with confidence and compassion and I was completely informed of the entire surgical process. I since had another less serious procedure and was treated the same. I am very fortunate and grateful to have found Dr. Salti !

Seemed in a hurry , had no bed side manner, when I was tearing up, Kleenex box right next to him, but instead said , what did I say something u didn't like? I said nice to have met u, as he walked out the door he said same. I guess I wasn't his type, or taste. I was looking for a kind uplifting doctor I did not receive that so I was very disappointed. I try to treat everyone the way I wish to be treated.
