I started to see Brett Josie about a year ago. he helped me with my diabetes get under control. no doctor in 4 years was able to do this. i have also had some health issues and he has been so helpful with helping me find solutions to the issues. He really listens to me and is wanting to help me in anyway he can. i am so grateful finding him. the staff is sweet but one girl i talk to is rude to me. i feel like i am a bother.

Patient

This unprofessional, poor excuse for a human being, let alone a physician assistant, had the audacity to compare his problems and his other patients problems with mine and then tell me that I need to get a job when I have more chronic pain and chronic fatigue than he could EVER dream of. If I had everything recorded the way he talked to me during my appointment with him...he would never practice medicine again.

Patient

In the beginning I felt like I had a great team behind me. Unfortunately got to the point where I believe I got too sick for them to treat. They would not give me the 24 hour care or in health care that I needed. Instead they opted to make aregimen of hospital visits that I needed to attend on an every-other-day basis. Something that was almost impossible when I can't even get out of bed to use the restroom... I honestly feel like when things got too hard with me they just kind of gave up and push me aside and drop me as a patient. even though through all of the uncomfortable or awkward times that I spent being treated by these doctors at UnityPoint I continue to go and face it only because they had all my records on hand when now I feel like I should have probably looked around and went somewhere where they had a little bit more compassion and Care. UnityPoint drop me as a patient with my weight at 98 lb and I'm six foot one... they dropped me as a patient with me being unable to eat and unable to withstand tube feedings. they drop me as a patient because I couldn't make it in to get my three times a week fluid infusions. Seems like right when I kind of needed them the most they gave up when I was doing everything I could physically and mentally possibly do to not give up on myself. UnityPoint broke my spirit. UnityPoint made me think of many many bad thoughts for many many days. UnityPoint made me feel as though I was not worthy. UnityPoint was very good at making me feel like everything with my fault. I really just wanted someone to fight this battle with me and stand by my side. And I felt like I had to answer to unitypoint and always explain myself for no reason. as soon as Brett Josie and the team realized that I was more of a liability and probably going to die on their watch than survive I got a certified letter stating they wanted to drop me as a patient.

Patient

Doctor Josie is great. The staff at internal medicine are completely impotent when it comes to helping a patient. They ask ADHD patients to call around to pharmacies themselves to stock check their prescriptions. And they're rude.

Patient

Dr Josie is a great internist if you can ever speak to him. His phone person Tanya is a rude, condescending, poor excuse for a medical office gatekeeper. They treat you like 2nd class and have no problem blaming you for their inefficiency. They do not listen to common sense and behave like elitist. Despicable!
