Dr.David J. Wilber is wonderful! I met him 32 years ago, when heart ablations were a new field. He was working with the founding doctors at that time. I had had an ablation from a different doctor, in a different hospital a year before, that was unsuccessful. Dr Wilbur was recommended and he took me on as his patient. The ablation took 6 hours and he never gave up during the procedure. I have been Arrhythmia free until recently. I located Dr. Wilbur again and he took me on as a patient again. He was as expected FANTASTIC! This time the procedure was less than half the time. His bedside manner is calming. He answered all of my questions. His staff is fantastic! My stay at Loyola Medical Hospital had incredible care. His follow up appointments are informative and personable. He is truly a wonderful doctor !!

Never in my life have I encountered a doctor as rude as Dr. Wilber. The only thing I asked of him is if he could find a medication for me that came in a liquid as I am unable to swallow pills, somehow he took great offense to that. He proceed to tell me I am the only patient he has ever seen that cannot swallow pills and shortly turned into him telling me I "aggressively assaulted" and "verbal attacked" him, continuing to say never in all of his years as he come across a patient with such high expectations for treatment when all I did was ask for a medication that came in a liquid form. I apologized profusely if I had in someway offended him (I never raised my voice once in this entire appointment) and yet he made it extremely clear I was too difficult of a patient for him. I'm not sure if Dr. Wilber was just having a bad day which we all do, his credentials seem impeccable. But after this visit I would be extremely hesitant to ever recommend him.

Dr. Wilber and his team performed a successful atrial ablation procedure in September at Loyola Medicine in Maywood, IL. During his pre-op consultation he spent almost an hour with me going over the details of the procedure, risks, pre and post-op expectations and he answered all of my questions. I spent the night in the hospital and was very well cared for by all of the staff. Dr. Wilber and another physician team member visited me in the hospital room the next day prior to discharge to discuss the outcome and what I could expect going forward. He is really an excellent physician. I had a concern about 5 days after, called him on a weekend and he promptly responded back with suggestions and reassurance. I had a 6 week f/u with Dr Wilber and his Nurse Practitioner Katy and discussed my progress which was good and on track meeting expectations. They took their time with me and answered all of my questions. If you are considering an ablation procedure I would highly recommend consulting Dr. Wilber at Loyola Medicine. He's one of the best with a supporting staff to match.

Everyone in Dr. Wilber's office including the Doctors, nurses and associates are very knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. They always take as much time as I need to discuss my treatment and concerns. I entrust my cardiac care to Dr Wilber and his associates.
