Adam Rubinstein, MD

Dr Adam always provides a complete review of existing issues, meds and upcoming procedures to confirm no counterindications exist. He then provides very clear, detailed instructions on timing of meds to be changed, held or added to minimize risk yesterday still provide pain relief. I always feel very confident in his advice and look to him for his expertise to provide me safe and valuable care.

As a recovering drug addict, Dr. Rubenstein actually made my treatment impossible to afford. At the time I had the best of the best blue cross medical insurance and he would not accept it. He expected me to see him every week at $125 a visit. Then expected me to return unused medication to him. When I asked why he didn't take my insurance, his reply was I don't want your insurance reporting anything back to your employer about your treatment plan. REALLY???? I'm not sure how that is legal (as insurance companies cannot disclose that info to employers) however at the time I saw him I had 2 years clean. He gave me a drug screen the second time I saw him, and he told me I had a faint line of opiads, which I assured him several times that I had not used. He basically called me a liar to my face, told me I was lying to him. I realize as a treatment Doctor, some patients will lie to get what they want. I had a full time job, my own place, and my life was starting to come back together, however I did not make enough at the time to afford his treatment plan. Not only would he NOT work with my budget, but he also would not see me a 3rd time because I owed his office $25. I'm glad I got turned away from his care because I could not afford his "treatment plan." I was told later by 2 other doctors that by making you see him once a week at $125 an appointment, ($500 a month,) and not accepting any insurance is the poorest way to help recovering addicts. I later saw 2 doctors that actually did help me, worked with my budget, took my insurance, and no thanks to Adam Rubenstein I was able to make it to my 10th year as a recovering addict. I would highly recommend going elsewhere for drug addictions, all Dr. Rubenstein will do is humiliate you and charge you at the highest rate he can for 10-15 minutes of his time.

I was a patient of Dr. Rubinstein for 12 years. He is a competent doctor but always aware of the financial relationship between doctor and patient. His policy changed in November, 3 moths after my regular visit. Its February and I cannot get any of my regular prescriptions refilled. I have thyroid disease. I will get sick without these refills. They have been refused. Thanks doc for your increased concern for your patients well being.

I see the doctor regularly for medical care and am very glad to have found him. He cares greatly for his patients and always takes the time necessary to ensure you are all set before leaving the office. He will do what he can and within his boundaries to ensure you are given the best care possible. He has a very practical approach He explains things in an easy manner and is very knowledgable regarding his practice. His office staff are friendly, professional and easy to work with and address your needs. He does sometimes run behind, presumably to spend the required time to address his patients needs. But with that minor downside, i am extremely pleased.

I love Dr. Rubinstein and I love his staff! Especially Barbie and Tiffany. Barbie is so sweet she answers my silly questions on and off the clock and she also keeps in touch with me to make sure that am satisfied and comfortable. I don't really have to say anything about Dr. Rubinstein because if you know then you know but if you don't he is the bomb. He is very honest, cool, and he is an artist at what he do. I will be back for my punch card this summer :-)
