There were many incidents that were inappropriate regarding mine and my child's treatment which could have ended in more than one hospital visit post discharge. First, I had preeclampsia to begin with. When I brought up seeing spots while in labor I was told by a nurse "don't say that because you will be taken away from baby to be put on magnesium". Mind you, I was induced because of my sky rocketing high blood pressure that has started 24-48 hours prior. Once the baby was born, I asked for a lactation consultant to come in again (she came once, immediately after feeding baby and stated she would return at a later time) to learn to use a breast pump and to be able to assess feeding to ensure my child was getting the necessary nutrients only to be told "she already left". My child was taken by Dr. Scott Multack and two nurses for a procedure, after which they were returned to an EMPTY room. I was in the bathroom, showering, and was not alerted the baby was returned, nor was my partner there to ensure nothing happened to my baby. He was alone, in the bassinet. Following this discovery my partner sought out the doctor who did this procedure and asked why he was left alone and what care instructions would be, to which the doctor responded "I don't know man, I have 2 daughters, you'll have to ask a nurse". Sounds like this man shouldn't be a doctor if 1. he can't be professional and 2. can't provide post procedure instructions for a procedure he conducted? Dr Multack also discharged me without any instructions, medications, nor any regard for my follow up with my OBGYN who delivered the baby. He also asked me why I would have a follow up with her 2 days post discharge.. Mind you, I had multiple stitches and couldn't sit because of the immense pain (turned out to be a hematoma the size of a golfball on my labia for which I never got any pain meds for), complained of severe headache which started from the time I was admitted and never dissipated through time of discharge. Upon being discharged I challenged this order because my OBGYN who had delivered my baby had given very through instructions while sewing me up, specifically stating I would need to be sent home with pain medication, blood pressure medication and a monitor for the blood pressure. The discharging doctor said he didn't see any of those and would go check and NEVER RETURNED. I brought this up to the discharge nurse who was baffled and stated that the doctor didn't give any specific discharge instructions. They did ensure that I received a teal wristband designated to signal a preeclampsia/eclampsia patient yet no one told me that besides a seizure, I had every other symptom of preclampsia since all my concerns were dismissed. 36 hours of feeling miserable after discharge I had my follow up with my OBGYN who was shocked when I told her what had transpired and how the discharging doctor neglected her direct orders of care, medication and discharge instructions. She (Dr. Dorne) not only showed me her discharge instructions sent to Dr. Multack, but also personally escorted me back to Hinsdale hospital to ensure I finally got the care I needed for my symptoms. Upon leaving, I still didn't get any pain medications for the golfball sized hematoma and popped stitches but at least my blood pressure was finally addressed and a prescription was sent to my pharmacy. Without these 3 nurses I would have given this hospital 0 stars and warned EVERY expecting family I know to stay clear of it. For such a known hospital it's an absolute shock that such characters or so called doctors are employed and trusted. Dr Multack is so focused on seeming like a cool, hip doctor yet he fails to make patients comfortable, send them home in good health nor provide proper instructions for care. Avoid this man like the plague or maybe find a hospital who will care a little bit more about the doctors they employ and taking preeclampsia/eclampsia symptoms seriously before a new mom has return with complications that could have been addressed before discharge.

My grandson was recently born at Hinsdale Hospital and also spent some time in the NICU. The hospital is very modern on the inside. The Mother/baby room was very large and included seating which turned into a bed so the other parent could sleep lying down and not in a recliner. The NICU also had seats that converted to a bed for one person plus a recliner. The staff was great and very supportive towards the new parents. They all took the time to answer questions and were friendly and upbeat. It really helped as this was their first child. During the baby's stay, the NICU opened up a new parent lounge with a fridge to keep food and microwave to warm it up. There are also bathrooms with showers. The babies all have their own rooms in the NICU. Times have changed, We got one single photo of our baby from the hospital and not the greatest photo. Here, a professional photographer took many photos of the baby and had options in color or black and white. There are some food options on the basement level but it is not extensive. The coffee and gift shop are only open until 2:00pm. I was very happy with the care that my grandson and his parents received.

While it can take several hours to get blood test, visit doctor and then have chemo, the care I received was excellent. The doctor has determined the right chemo combination that is working. It is reassuring that the oncologists gather as a group to review my case and act as one. My numbers have decreased over 700 points and is under a benchmark that is consider normal. This is the same team that cured a different cancer 10 years ago. I am fortunate to have this team!

The first two pictures are of someone bragging how good he was at putting in IV. His name is Aaron. He was in the ER. The other picture is a nurse that when I would ask him, and any other nurse that would come by, to check the IV they all blew me off by putting a piece of tape on it. They all said the same thing...there ya go. All good. Kept complaining of pain (meniscus). I finally, after at least FIVE times I firmly told him to STOP!!! Please look at this now. The medicine has not been going in. It was running down my arm. I looked at him and said now we know why I have been in chronic pain amplifying!! *** For all concerned, I am sorry that it went on google. I thought the review stayed with the hospital. I did not realize it was going on google. As far as the review, I gave an honest review. Maybe the number could be higher.......I'm sure there are some people that had a good experience and that's great! Unfortunately, I am not one of them. When you're there for pain and they refuse to check the IV that putting pain medication in when you keep asking for help and being blown off so many times. No!! Not a good experience. PS. The elbow IV. All docs and nurses stated What on earth is that from. They never should have put it there. Completely wrong spot!

Pretty good experience. Great hospital and nurse staff are good. Not so hands on but very sweet. The hospital is updated and clean. The complementary massage was amazing. I would recommend for the comfort and the nice rooms. Labor was long but had great nurses to help make me comfortable. Food was pretty good. I would deliver there again so I recommend this hospital.
