Patient
I was referred to Dr. Takyi by my primary physician for varicose veins in my left lower leg, which were unsightly and uncomfortable. Dr. Takyi met me and was personable and knowledgeable. She assured me this was easy and I would be happy with the results. On the day of the procedure things were rushed and she was busy not only with me but also teaching a newer doctor. There was one point in the procedure I was in extreme pain in one spot of my leg. She stopped and gave me additional anesthetic, and carried on. There was no conversation at the end. She rushed out and left any questions to the staff. I followed the instructions for self care and even far exceeded the requirements, but I was in a lot of pain for two months, which is twice as long as they said it might be - at its worst. That one spot still causes me discomfort. I called in at one point and the staff following up said what I was experiencing was normal. I am not someone who is bothered much by pain, but this kept me awake at night - for a while. Upon my follow up, the aesthetic of my leg was completely unchanged. The "teaching" doctor saw me and actually suggested ANOTHER PROCEDURE. OH HECK NO! I endured all that, still have an ugly mess on my leg, now have numbness (in that one spot) AND a bill for $1500 out of pocket?! ... FOR WHAT? PASS! Edit * I've read the canned response from Duly Heath. I only posted this review AFTER already discussing this with their customer resolution team for MONTHS with zero results. You guys have my number if you REALLY want to resolve things.
