This was my first visit with Dr.Gandhi. I was seen when my time was scheduled and didn't have to wait. First impressions. He treated me with dignity and respect. Made me feel comfortable and at ease. He asked me lots of questions and listened to me with care and concern. Seemed to be very knowledgeable. Had a heart attack 10 years ago and had a great cardiologist since but lost him when my insurance changed. Extremely happy and feeling confident that I now have another reputable doctor and I'm looking forward to being under his care.

It's kind of hard to give an evaluation of Dr. Gandhi because there are things to really like about his practice and other reasons to avoid it.
First of all I think Dr. Gandhi is a very knowledgeable and thorough doctor. He takes the time to explain everything in a manner that is very understandable. Clinically I would give Dr. Gandhi a minimum of 5 stars.
However, his billing department billed for an EKG that I never had on a date I wasn't even at the doctor. When I brought it to their attention I was told, by billing, not to worry about it because insurance had paid for it and I had no out of pocket expenses. So, for the billing practices of this office I would give them a negative 5 stars.
And finally the scheduling aspect of this Doctor"s office. I've seen Dr. Gandhi for several years, recently I ended up in the ER at a hospital that wasn't associated with Advocate for chest pain and shortness of breath. The ER diagnosed me with A Fib, an irregular heartbeat. They treated me with medication and advised me to see my cardiologist as soon as possible, advising that my cardiologist would probably want to put me on blood thinners to prevent blood clots since I had a previous stroke. I called Dr. Gandhi's office and spoke with a lady in scheduling. I explained the situation to her and she told me the first available appointment wasn't for at least 6 weeks.
So, I then contacted the cardiologist that the ER had given me the name of...(not an Advocate hospital) and requested an appointment. I explained the situation to them and they advised that the triage nurse would call me back and evaluate because the soonest available they had was also 6 weeks out. The triage nurse called me back and the next day I saw a new cardiologist.
So for scheduling... It's hard to review Dr. Gandhi's office. Obviously I'm not the only patient and every patient has issues that need to be addressed; however, perhaps Dr. Gandhi should have a triage nurse to evaluate critical patients to determine if they need to be seen sooner.
So Dr. Gandhi gets 5 stars for his knowledge and quality of care, his billing gets negative 5 stars, and I would give his scheduling 1 star for not having a procedure in place to evaluate and prioritize when they get a critically ill patient for a total of 1 star....which in a way doesn't seem fair because Dr. Gandhi is a good doctor; but, then again as a patient I also have to deal with his staff, and when they bill for procedures not performed on a day I wasn't there and then refuses to reverse the charge that causes un-needed stress that this heart patient doesn't want to deal with.
