My mom who is 94 years old was a patient of Dr. Chico and we left her. Thank God . She put her on a medication that she shouldn't have put her on . Now we deal with those results. She didn't want to approve FMLA for her daughter to take her to other Doctors appointments. She said she can do everything. Wrong. Happy With Her New Doctor.

Trigger warning: I wrote this write after my last appt but hesitated on posting publicly. Now that I see other reviews and have shared this with Advocate, I honestly feel I should warn potential patients. This is not the doctor for chronically ill patients. She should probably serve in a walk in/ non emergent capacity. 5/2025 Being an overweight woman was a way to illegitamize my health concerns today by my primary care physician. I had a reaction to an antibiotic prescribed by the ER. I sent her a message to ask for help. She asked that I make an appt. At this appt, she asked what did I need as if she didnt read my request. After I explained the same thing i sent in the urgent message, she asked me why did I go to the ER. I explained that urgent care has denied me service because of my artificial heart valve. Any infection could cause endocarditis so several times they have told me to go to the ER for stat bloodwork just in case. She continued asking me about anxiety and saying ive have had many tests and they all came back negative. Ive just completed my normal cardiac and pulmonary function tests. They were average for me minus a new diagnosis of asthma. Anyways, she told me she would not refer me anywhere else and not give me another antibiotic. She brought up the anxiety i talked about in our first appt and told me to seek therapy. I reminded her that i am in therapy and she asked me had I lost any weight. Then proceeded to shake her head saying she won't do and I need to focus on losing weight and my anxiety. She's been my pcp for 3 months. I've seen her once in person and twice virtually. The first time I met her she said she didn't have enough time to go through all my records and "you are so sick and so young". She said several times she didn't have time to talk to me about everything even though this was the appt to establish care with her. The second she was a bit more pleasant and that's how we got to talk about how I'd been addressing my weight fluctuations. This 3rd time though....i ended up tearing up and being silent most of the appt. She was asking the questions that she should already have the answers too. She even told me that my positive urine sample was most likely contaminated and not even a uti. I've had false uti symptoms before due to bladder inflammation and I shared that with her that I was treated for that by a gynecologist for about a year. I even did pelvic floor physical therapy. So yes it is always possible to be a false one. But I've also had a kidney infection before because I worked through the signs thinking it was a false one. It's no lie, I have a very complex medical history with being born without an aortic valve, 4 open heart surgeries, multiple bouts of endocarditis, and lots of subsequent hospitalization. I was first prescribed anxiety meds before my last open heart surgery by my loving electro cardiologist because I legit went to work one day with a dry cough and by night I was in seclusion in the hospital with no way of knowing if or when I'd go home to my 15 month old. That was a 3 month hospital stay...I've been cardioverted. I've had ablations. I've had a spinal tap and chiropractic work. I've done physical therapy because of my diaphragm healing lopsided. All this and more while in my young life. a record of anxiety and being overweight/weight fluctuating shouldn't be a reason to discriminate. It's already a source of pain to even consider what to eat or to work out because I'm always monitoring my cardiac and lung symptoms. If my case overwhelms her, I wish she would have referred me to another pcp instead of further humiliating me.

My experience with Dr Chinco was horrible to say the least. This so called Dr does not care about her patients, she's rude, and dismissive. I explained what I was feeling and basically she told me that MY BODY wasn't experiencing what I explained. She basically told me she won't approve my FMLA after suffering a stroke.... She tells me it's the DR decision not mines. I could go on and on however I'll stop here and beg you do not go to this so called DR

Patient

Worst experience I've had so far, I am sick and bleeding and the doctor doesn't care at and did not do any physical exam, just boring routine questions, keep asking the same questions, doesn't want to write prescription (go get some medicine over the counter....). Doctors note are not matching my case. I am going to file a complaint to state board of Illinois very soon.

Patient

"This office does NOT care about its patients. I am currently trying to transfer my loved one. I wouldn't want Dr. Chicos to treat my dog! I will be filing complaints with the state board as well!!
