I had a total ankle replacement scheduled for oct/17/2025.went to pre op. On 10/09/25 and was told had to get a eco cardio of my hart before surgery from a eco that was taken back in 2018 they did not want to put me under until I do this. We'll I do this then on 10/ 15/25 they tell me I have to see a cardiologist to look at it and tell me it's ok. An RN named Jen from post op called me on same day to give me that news. We talked and I said I have never had a cardiologist before I could not get into one till after new years. We hung up and about a half hour later she calls me back a said she had me scheduled with one at memorial for the next day. I could not believe someone would go out of there way to help someone they did not know. Memorial needs more people like her. The day of surgery there was a card from her given to me congratulating me on my surgery and apologizing for the problems that I had before the surgery. That lady is a top notch employee for memorial hospital as a matter of fact all the employees I encountered during my stay were friendly and professional . Memorial is my #1 hospital.

My mother was taken to Memorial Hospital via ambulance on at least three separate occasions within the last few months with symptoms ranging from high fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain ... every time she was sent home with Zero testing or medical care. On one occasion she was even escorted out by the police, who were also concerned that she was in severe pain ad needed medical attention. One of the nurses even threatened to press charges on My Mother and punched my mother in the chest and told her to sit back down. Unfortunately, I didn't hear about this until a later day or a police report would most defiantly been filed. Just last week, my mother was again experiencing the exact same exact issues and was again rushed by ambulance to the hospital. She begged them to take hre to Saint Elizabeth's hospital as she was being ignored at Memorial. Thank GOD because she ended up needing emergency surgery to have her appendix removed. The staff at this location are the rudest individuals and have no business working in the industry where others are in need of help especially medical life-saving treatment! Extremely poor compassion! I'm not sure what the process is of being investigated for what whatever by whatever board but it needs to happen immediately before anyone looses a loved one. If they haven't already! I truly hope that these reviews on this website bear witness to any future lawsuits that I guarantee will come from the negligence of the staff from this hospital! If my mother would not have insisted on going to another hospital, I guarantee she would not be here today! I implore you to avoid this hospital at all cost! You have been warned!

My sister was in the ICU in critical condition and most of her 10 kids came in from various different States to come be with her in what could have been her final hours. Well, the nurse on duty apparently heard about all the people she had in the waiting room (remember 10 kids) and sent the very armed guards looking guards into my sister's room asking my nephew to step out. Mind you my sister was just beginning to wake up after being down for 4 days after her heart stopped beating for 27 minutes! They then began telling him there were too many visitors coming in and and out from her room that they had to leave. Now, I'm not sure about how anybody else feels about this? But I think if I have 10 kids and they all want to be there with me, after driving 20+ hours? then this is an awesome thing! Instead they were handed a rule book stating the rules and that they had to leave????? These kids have just as much privilege to be there with their mother as the next guy and, it wasn't children only. Most of them were over the age of 13yrs and were not running or screaming or making much noise at all for that matter. But we're also told to leave the waiting room as well. I JUST THINK WITH THIS BEING SAID . THAT THE HOSPITAL NEEDS TO TAKE A LOOK AT THAT RULE BOOK AND CHANGE A FEW THINGS. Nobody should ever be told they need to leave when a loved one could be dying.

Putting this for the hospital, too: Horrible experience every time. They can't even hit the mark, let alone the standard, in patient care. The lack of communication and continuity of care is astounding. If you'll be there over the weekend, be sure to bring everything you need because the gift shops, coffee shop and cafeteria will be closed. The family lounge area is full of equipment, which is exactly what the sign says not to put there or maybe it says to put it there, I can't tell...so if you need a place to for a few minutes to yourself you're better off just going outside.

My husband had arrived at Memorial Hospital in Belleville around 10:30pm via ambulance due to what we think was either a seizure or stroke. My husband was not oriented when he arrived. The ER doctor asked my husband in a mocking voice, "Do you speak English?" and, "what do you want me to do?" My husband was admitted and his vitals were not taken regularly during his stay.. The next morning around 10am a couple of nurses came in to rotate my husband, and saw him standing by himself; they were pleased with this.. Around 4pm my husband was taken to take a MRI and several other tests. While he was doing his tests, his dinner arrived. His food sat out for over two hours while he was doing tests. He was still expected to eat this food, but he refused to eat it; being worried about getting food poisoning. He was denied something else to eat, and was told "we can heat it up." While he was having tests done, we had asked for him to be given his mental health medicine. After he got back from his tests, we asked for his medicine. An hour after his test we asked for his medicine. After 4 hours and 3 times asking, around 8:30pm, the doctor refused to give him his medicine, because when he was unoriented he supposedly said it was a day time medicine.. with that logic, why wouldn't they had given him his medicine that morning or anytime during the day? The doctor also decided at 8:30pm that he cannot be standing or walking by himself, even though his condition had not changed all day. Around this time his nurse had asked him, "do you know what kind of seizure you had?" as if we had any idea what was going on with him.. 2am rolls around and my husband starts buzzing for the nurse, saying he needs to use the restroom. 15 minutes go by and he buzzes for the nurse again. The nurse did not come. My husband had an accident on himself. My husband buzzed for the nurse again. The nurse had him stand for an hour in his fecal matter, UNATTENDED, while he waited for someone to help him clean himself. After he was finally cleaned up, we decided to leave due to the negligence and emotional distress. THIS is how Memorial Hospital treats our disabled veterans.
