Alan Spiegel, MD

I've been afraid of hospitals and Doctors offices after my heart failure. It was such a relief to meet such a kind and friendly Doctor. Dr Spiegal might be the nicest Doctor I have ever met.

I felt that the majority of this exam went good, but for the portion of the exam that required listening to my heart with a stethoscope, I would have been more comfortable if I was instructed to undress beforehand and given a slip to wear rather than asked to pull my shirt/bra up. No hate towards this doctor personally, he may have not realized how it came off, but I would say it may have been helpful to give a more detailed explanation of why I had to expose part of my breast for the stethoscope check so I understand why this is necessary, or been told that I had the option to cover up parts that I felt uncomfortable with being out. Otherwise I have no complaints about the exam.

Doctor dismissed my concerns - said he would see many more people that day "worse off than me" along with some other uncomfortable interactions during the appointment. He's got good reviews ...maybe I went in on a bad day, I don't know. Also was not asked very many personal health questions but per the after appointment summary it seemed as though he answered them for me and a lot were incorrect which was alarming/a very big red flag for me personally. When he was finished, he dismissed himself from the room and not me, left me alone to dismiss myself and find my way to the front with no verbal directions on next steps or if I was even able to leave yet. Safe to say I will not be going back but I hope others are treated a little better than I was. ( My appointment was earlier this year, I chose not to review until now to make sure that my judgement was not clouded and that my experience wasn't rated based on emotions I might have still had from it. I am certain, that even now, I still feel as though my appointment and concerns were very much so disregarded and not handled properly or professionally. I am going to take his word that I am "perfectly fine" even though I do not feel fine and I will hope for the best)

Dr. Alan Speigal has been my cardiologist for years. I like his personality and his practical attitude and advice. He doesn't prescribe unnecessary meds or tests. He listens to his patients.

Dr Spiegel has been my Cardiologist for almost 12 years now. Aside from the obvious, that he saved my life, he has proven to me to be one of the most knowledgeable and yet caring physicians I've ever encountered, so much so, I've referred a co worker to him a few years ago..
