Patient
The patient care and follow-up at this facility are extremely poor. Despite their claims of having a vast cardiology network, the communication between the different doctors and entities within this institute is atrocious, putting patient care at risk. It was explained multiple times, that a five-person multidisciplinary team would review my case and provide treatment recommendations, but this never happened. After a couple of weeks with no follow-up on my procedure, I found myself caught in a frustrating cycle of back-and-forth communication between the referring cardiologist, the cardiologist who performed the procedure, and the RN who ordered it, all of which are under the "Heart & Vascular" and "Heart & Vascular Institute" and the "Valve Clinic". The incompetence continued when the office manager ended up reading the doctor's notes from the procedure to me. Having the office manager read the doctor's procedural notes is not patient care! There is no cohesion within "Heart & Vascular." Undergoing extensive tests and procedures without providing a care plan is deeply concerning. After receiving no follow-up, I contacted Northwestern Medical. Within two days, they obtained the images and video from the procedure and a doctor from Northwestern was advising me on a treatment plan--something Ascension Heart & Vascular at Elk Grove failed to provide.
