Patient

So, Dr. Hinchman has been my cardiologist for a couple of years and he's been okay, a little hurried at times, but okay and I really didn't have any complaints, until recently. About two months ago, he took me off of a statin I had been taken for many years for cholesterol and put me on Repatha, an injectable, which he said worked better and had no side effects. Here's the kicker. After being on Repatha for about a month and a half, I came down with a severe case of Shingles on the right front, back and side of my neck, in my right ear, a bit on my face and down into my chest. At the first signs, I thought I had been bitten by some bug while I had gone camping a week earlier so I didn't think much of it. As the symptoms got worse, I saw my primary care doctor and my dermatologist, both of whom, misdiagnosed my condition and put me on medication which made it worse. I finally saw another dermatologist who got it right, put me on the right meds and some antibiotics because a few of the lesions had become infected. Now, back to Dr. Hinchman. After doing some research a few days ago, I discovered that people taking Repatha, are at a much, much higher risk of developing Shingles because Repatha messes with ones immune system. I am so pissed off at Dr. Hinchman who lied to me about there being no side effects with taking Repatha. i now have nerve damage on the side of my neck as a result of the Shingles and the whole area is numb with painful pulsations. At this point, I cannot recommend Dr. Hinchman and I would advise seeing another cardiologist instead.

If you're ever curious what it would be like if AI generated a doctor based on your worst nightmares, then Dr. Hinchman is exactly your guy. Picture a mix of last year's spoiled milk along with the uncanny ability to make you feel like you're completely worthless--because apparently, that's the vibe he's going for. I really thought I was doing myself a favor by choosing a privately owned facility over a doctor associated with a hospital. You know, for that personal touch? Big mistake. Instead of personalized care, I got an ego trip from an overlord who has the charm of a cold unfeeling robot with a superiority complex. He really acted like he's doing me a favor just by being in the same room. His attitude was so condescending, I actually ended up in tears, likely the result of my subconscious trying to self-lubricate so I could escape that prison faster. I've seen horror movies less terrifying than that. He really should've retired like yesterday along with his time-traveling lectures from the Stone Age. Thankfully, the medical assistant and front desk staff were absolute gems. Honestly, they deserve sainthood for putting up with that ick. It's like they're trying to balance out the dark energy he brings into the room. If you enjoy being talked down to by someone who comes off like a malfunctioning AI crossed with a carton of sour milk, then Dr. Hinchman is exactly that and more. Your expectations will certainly be exceeded. But, if you're looking for actual care, you might want to reconsider your choice. I know I will.

Dr Hinchman always spends a good amount of time listening to his patient. Monitors all aspects of a patient's health that may have a correlation to one's heart - a whole body approach. Thanks to him I am in great shape even with an irregular heartbeat. I have learned so many good things from him that got me here!
