I went into Mountain View Emergency Room yesterday due to worries of a potential miscarriage and from the front desk to the nurses and doctor I was treated with such grace and respect. Nurses Danielle and Calli were super sweet checkin in on me, Dr. Kelly addressed all of my concerns with no judgement and even Dean the ultrasound technician was super nice, keeping my spirits bright! I am so grateful to have had such a good experience in such a very scary and unsure time in my life! Thank you everyone! Keep up the great work!

Yesterday we had a visit with our OB. My wife is 39 weeks and was measured as 35, so 4 weeks behind. He expressed concern and put in an order to Mountain View for an ultrasound. This morning we showed up at the Medical Imaging department and an imaging tech took us in and began the ultrasound. A few minutes into it, a second woman walked in unannounced and without introducing herself (we asked later and she said her name was Kylie) she pulled up a chair and began assisting the first person with the ultrasound. Kylie answered the questions of the first person as they went through the ultrasound, corrected mistakes, guided her through the process, and even re-did portions of the imaging herself. My wife expressed concern about the inexperienced person doing the ultrasound and requested Kylie take over due to her apparent experience. Immediately we were met with hostility from Kylie, she was adamant that she was not training the other person and that "that's just how we do things here. If you're not comfortable with that you can go somewhere else for your ultrasound". We apologized and they finished the ultrasound. Kylie instructed us to leave and we would hear from the OB about the results. We asked what the percentile of growth was, as the OB had requested additional imaging if it was under the 10th percentile. Again we were met with combativeness and Kylie told us that she could not do the math required to determine percentile of growth. We expressed that the OB had requested additional imaging if the baby was under 10% and she stated she could not do any additional imaging since it was not on the doctor's order. It was typed on the order FOUR TIMES (I will include a photo). After persistent pressure from me, she eventually agreed to do the math required to determine percentile of growth and our baby turned out to be less than the 10th percentile. She then began the additional imaging and continued with her cold and combative attitude. Upon completion of the additional imaging we asked for the results and she was evasive and still rude and seemingly intentionally mean. At that point my wife began to cry due to the stress of the baby being undersized and not knowing why or what the results of this testing meant. Our OB was very clear yesterday about the urgency of the situation and the possibility of needing to induce the baby. It was not until my wife was sobbing, filled with anxiety about what this meant for our baby, that Kylie finally softened. She then explained that even though the baby was small, so is my wife, and that the additional imaging showed good blood flow to the baby and not to stress about it. It should not take tears for medical personnel to remember the importance of bedside manners and treating people respectfully. It is entirely possible Kylie was just having a bad day, but we had a horrible experience and I highly recommend that if you need an ultrasound, to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

My mother was recently admitted to the hospital for a partial hip replacement, and I just want to acknowledge the incredible care she received. ER Nurse Karissa. PT Alex. The RNs on the 4th floor: Casey, Anthony M., and Ashley, were absolutely wonderful. The PCTs/CNAs, Tonya, Alex, and Iesha, went above and beyond every single day. Thank you all so much for the amazing care and compassion you showed my mom.

I always seem to hear mixed feelings about coming here but I sat and truly thought about it. Instead saying negative things I want to rather express my gratitude to all those who helped me get better. I've been to this hospital many times due to my health condition. Its almost routine for me now. People talk about how mean the nurses are or how the doctor didn't help them but I think as human beings we truly forget the suffering our doctors and nurses, and all the staff have to go through. I always forgive them when they have their bad days with me sometimes because I know everyone goes through stuff. We have to love each other because when it matters most it's about love. I hope the same kindness, love, compassion, and understanding I have for everyone is extended to me back too. No matter what I am thankful you all take good care of me. Sorry I was such a pain sometimes. Being so over exhausted and very ill, and taking care of my sick husband took a toll on me. I hope that all nurses and doctors get more prayers for them too not just us patients. They really need our love too. Thanks for your love and care here everyone. P.s. Yes, there are doctors and nurses who have lost their joy and can be cold. Maybe they can step back and reflect but it takes a lot of courage for them and us too make things and ourselves better.

I had a total knee replacement done at this hospital, had great care from a dedicated staff. Also went to the emergency room with an eye injury. Staff was great, called an ophthalmologist (happened to be my regular eye doctor) and was given great care. Stayed overnight for the knee surgery and have to say the food was good, ordered what I wanted from the menu, so kudo's to the kitchen staff. I've found everyone from lab techs, registration personnel to be extremely profession and courteous at this hospital. Great asset to the community.
