Kootenai Health Emergency Department

I brought my friend in here for a extremely painful but not life-threatening situation and he was prescribed fentanyl why doctors would prescribe fentanyl to somebody that is not an addict and is not terminal. I don't understand. He was given Dilaudid last night and it worked better. He was in less pain. The fentanyl has only brought the pain down to about a six where the Dilaudid took the pain down to like a three, yet the doctor chose to use fentanyl, which is a highly addictive and highly dangerous substance is beyond me. I am horrified and disturbed by kootenai county's practices of prescribing fentanyl so easily and readily

Had to visit emergency room just after midnight, I was greeted by two individuals at the front desk that promptly checked me in, within ten minutes I was in a room being taken care of by a nurse, shortly thereafter doctor entered room. Over next couple hours underwent test, including CT scan, during this time was regularly checked on and asked if I needed anything. All service/care was extremely prompt, professional and friendly, couldn't have been more pleased with experience, entire staff was top shelf. Thank you KH very best overall experience possible!

People were informative, considerate and understanding of my needs and my cancer. I was given clear instructions from the labs, the visit with the uncology assitant took her time to answered all my questions, and the chemo nurse gave me the meds I needed to take. Then she made sure my shuttle was coming to drive me home. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

New to the area but when my daughter broke her leg we were told by urgent care to go to the ER so they could splint her leg better. We were seen promptly- waiting only 10minutes or so. The team was very patient and the splint made for her leg was quite good. They did not have pediatric crutches or walker though so I had to carry her home- not ideal. They pointed us toward Schreiners in Spokane for casting and pediatric ortho care which was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to go to this ER again however for myself but depending on the reason I may consider driving further for pediatric care.

This was the best experience ever at ER if yoy ever want to say that. Everyone was kind and caring. Thankfully it was a quiet night and they were able to get me in quickly and deal with my issue. They all listen to what I had to say. Given my last experience in ER was not so forgiving and regrettable experience. Thank you so much for taking care me.
