This is one of two really big hospitals here in Boise the other one is St Luke's. I have had two stays here and the second time was called a mess the right hand not knowing what the left was doing. All in all it is a well run hospital and as you will see in the pics this is a large area. There is a complex in Eagle , Nampa and Meridian as well. The staff are always very professional and do their job very well. I don't like going to doctors and or hospitals but if I really need help this is the one I would choose.

Upon arrival the first face I saw was welcoming and she seemed helpful and kind. Unfortunately, this did not extend past the reception area.
The nurse I saw that evening, pretty sure her name was Jen, well she was sassy with me and condescending when I would speak about my health concerns that evening, before she was finished up with her questionnaire the doctor comes Walzing into the room as well.
He did not want to listen to Mr at all, dismissed me mostly, then basically ordered what labs he wanted to even though I was just sewn at another urgent care office who sent me over to have a certain panel of tests done.
Blood work is back and everything is just fine, but come to find out he tested all the wrong stuff. So now I have a 1500 hospital bill and wasn't told anything I didn't already know.

Our first appointment last week was so reassuring. We were met with efficient, competent and friendly office staff and nurse. Dr. Matthew Young is a great listener and offered helpful affirmation and clarification. We're so very pleased with our new medical providers.

I am a little surprised at the number of 1 star reviews posted on Google for the St. Alphonses Medical Center as that definitely does not reflect my two experiences here.
I just had my second experience at this incredible facilty and like my first experience eight years ago (detached retina repair) this experience for a heart ablation and Watchman implant, could not have been better.
I arrived at 06:00 for the procedure and the check-in process was absolutely seamless - registration personell could not have been more prepared and more cordial. In my estimation, that reflects excellent management and complete coordination of all departments and there are many in a facility the size of St. Al's.
I was moved up to the pre-op area in less than15 mins and had five nursing staff and physicians, all completely up to speed on my scheduled procedures, prepping me immediately.
I was visited pre-op by my surgeon, Dr. Adam Grimaldi who reviewed in detail (again), just what he would be doing including a full discussion of all the risks, then by Dr M. Nelson who would be assisting Grimaldi and by Dr. M Boyd, the anesthesiologist, who reviewed in great detail what she would be doing and what to expect. She was also exceptionally personal and friendly in all our contact.
In addition to the three physicians, I received pre-op prep and care from four nurses, all of whom could not have been more skilled, professional and cordial. An incredible team.
The procedures went as planned and the post-op care was very thorough and conducted with the utmost professionalism. So good, I was discharged less than three hours after the surgery.
As the retired CEO of a $25M/yr wholesale lumber company, I value effective management as well as the skills of each staff member. The management and coordination of the multiple departments involved in my care was, in my estimation, some of the best I have ever experienced.
In addition to the excellent management, all of the staff involved in my care, from check-in to dischacrge, could not have been more professional or caring. The people are simply awesome!
After two identical, excellent experiences at St. Al's, I cannot recommend this facility highly enough. Even the food was good!.

My experience was very heartfelt from my doctor. Being told you need a new heart is very sensitive information that doctor must share. He was so gentle when he shared this information with me. If he's as good with knife as he is with his words I've got nothing to worry about. Thank you doc
