Patient
He's okay. I originally came to him soon after moving from out of state when I needed medication refilled. He was great with refilling and the continuation of those medications. A few months later, I began having what turned out to be chronic issues that require a specialist, but n one knew it at the time. After one of my ER visits IA was told to go see my PCP, which at the time was him. I explained why I was there and he said there was no reason for me to see him and I shouldn't have come for that. The next time I came he once again said "why are you here I can't do anything about that," and left me with no answers or direction. I completely understand that PCPs can not treat everything, but I do expect to be pointed in the right direction, and not told to not be there and leave an appointment being even more confused. After that visit, I went to a new PCP, who is lovely. For reference, I am an early 20s female who goes to most appointments, in this case all but 1, by myself. I am unfortunately often not taken seriously for this reason, and I feel that was definitely the case here. I was told I was too young to be heaving these issues, but with the help of other providers, I have now been diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses that showed signs that were ignored.
