I can't say enough good things about Dr. Montana and his staff. He made our whole appointment process a breeze. My son was very nervous and they did great with putting him at ease. He is very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all your questions. All around great doctor!
Honestly, I've been thinking about writing this review for years, but I'm hopeful that it might be able to help someone else. Although Dr. Montana is a nice man, I felt very dismissed and unheard at this practice. I brought my older child in after getting an irregular EKG at his 12 year well check (which they had just started doing routinely). After doing a few tests and having his heart monitored for a month, there was an "irregularity" that couldn't be explained. Dr. Montana kind of shrugged his shoulders and said he'd probably outgrow it. That didn't sit well with me, and I pushed him for what it could possibly be, but he didn't really seem to want to deal with me after that. I stayed at the practice for another annual visit (maybe two) before deciding that I needed another opinion. After switching practices, the new doctor REALLY listened to me and what my concerns were. Working together with me, she set up some tests that found his heart was going in and out of AFib. After a hospital stay, months of medications and a much more detailed diagnosis, my son had a heart ablation at CHoA that fixed the anomaly in his heart. Without that second opinion, I'm afraid my son would still be living with a rare but serious heart condition and possibly more dire consequences. I think Dr. Montana may be a good cardiologist, but maybe for more obvious heart cases or younger children with more common issues. I'm very grateful we left this practice to get the help my son needed. If you think something may be wrong, just make sure to get another opinion!
