Firstly, I have to be honest. Dr. Poku is a not a bad Doctor. Secondly, his staff is ok. Thirdly, here's where the problems begun. My husband was set to have 2 Surgeries at 2 different times and has not been serviced yet, due to the long wait times. We waited 7 hours the first time and 5 hours the last time on top of having to be NPO(not eating from 12 midnight the day before). When visiting this doctor off wait time are horrible. He is over capacitated with patients. We know that dealing with the heat is a big deal. My husband wants to live, but is scared for his life because of the unfair treatment. We have reached out to the CHEIF MEDICAL OFFICER OF ATRIUM HOSPITAL AND Hasn't HEARD BACK. Lastly, I pray to God nothing happens to my husband due to not properly being taken care of. Also, we will be making a complaint with the Medical Board. On to finding a Doctor who really cares about their patients.
Dr Poku saved my life. I was in a wheel chair the first time I saw him. He took me off all the medicine my other heart Dr had me on. Replaced it all with one medicatiion, within 2 weeks I was back walking with no assistance and back to my normal self after being completely unable to do anything 6 mo. Thank you so much Dr Poku!
Dr. Poku changed the setting on my Husband's defibrillator without telling us. Because of this we no longer trust him. He also prescribed medicine 3 times a day. It is only suppose to be given twice a day. He did two ablations last years and wanted to do a third. We found the doctor we were going to before him and went back to her. She advised my Husband NOT to get the third ablation. We found out the reason his defibrillator was going off was not connected to Ventricular tachycardia. And the third ablation was unnecessary.
Sat in doctor's office for 2 hrs. or more. Advised that he wanted to put me on a heart monitor and ultra sign of heart to be sure because of the heart issues I complained about. Nurse came in said oh we are going to have to reschedule you for two appointments we have to check your own insurance. Seems everything is about money not about well being of patient. All I can say is Wow. What happened to all the caring people.
