Patient
I was referred to this doctor by a different heart specialist at Emory (and blessedly given an urgent appointment) for heart problems I developed after receiving the covid 19 vaccine that have now become quite severe. I'd seen cardiologists prior, but they haven't been able to figure out what's going on with standard tests and were not helpful. I was told that this doctor specifically deals with heart problems related to connective tissue disorders and would be able to give me more specialized help. However, Dr. Leleiko offered no greater expertise and had no interest whatsoever in helping me. She and the doctor working with her in fellowship both, for some reason, refused to utilize the clear & concise notes I'd written to help the appointment go smoother. Instead asking me bizarre questions about my comorbid conditions and not listening to me about what was going on with my heart and why I was there. Missing every critical point that they could have simply looked at a piece of paper and read. It took me 6+ hours of driving to see this doctor, and inevitably all I got was gaslighted because of my other diagnoses (despite both Drs making sure to reiterate several times that they're HEART doctors and they treat the HEART... Just not my heart, I guess). I anticipate that the inaccurate and frankly absurd notes they left in my chart may now make it unnecessarily difficult for me in seeking further care. My experience with Emory Heart & Vascular was honestly traumatic (minus the receptionist, who was lovely). I thought I would have access to better care with Emory, but this was some of the least competent - and truly strange! - care I've ever received. I'd hesitate to use Emory at all in the future based on what I experienced with this clinic. It seems they are anything but patient focused.
