Unfair business practices. This is the worst Doctor's office I've ever visited. One of the items being, I was incorrectly charged for something that did not work and no data was provided. Anne from the Billing Dept is never available and Dr. Wilson is average at best. Future patients beware!
I called to make an appointment because I have a family history of a heart condition that tends to require surgery later in life, and now that I'm over 50 I should have already seen a cardiologist. However, unless I got my primary care physician to send over a referral and all of her notes, demographic info, past test results, etc., I could NOT make an appointment. When I really didn't understand why that's necessary to merely make an appointment, because my insurance doesn't require a referral and I do not HAVE any past tests as I've never seen a cardiologist, the person I talked to (who I may have caught at a bad time?) gave me the impression I was REALLY testing her patience. I wrote down the fax number, but I decided there's no point in starting off on the wrong foot when I can go somewhere else.
Actually, I have found Dr. Wilson to be an extremely well organized and sound professional. He seems to be up to date on all meds ad procedures, is clear in his analysis and listens and looks at you as he thinks about your condition. He is young but wise. Highly recommended by old guy who's seen lots and lots of specialists.
Dr Wilson and Dr Malave are both great. This would be a 5 star review if they only hired more efficient support staff for appointments (can never reach a real person by phone) wait times excessive, and reception inconsistent.
I see Dr. Hector Malave and recommend him and this practice highly. The staff is friendly and professional, all my questions answered and procedures explained well. Outpatient care in St. Josephs hospitcal nearby also good. If you are looking for a cardiologist, you will be happy here. Wait times are sometimes long - but then when was the last time you went to a doctor and they weren't?
