Patient
Doctor Ankit Patel became my Cardiologist in 2015 after I moved back from UT Knoxville. In February 2017, I became very sick and Doctor Patel was either out of town or the country. I was dying. Doctor Patel arrived back the day after I had another Echo and called me at work to tell me to go straight to the emergency room. I told him I was three hours plus away. He advised the emergency room to contact him as soon as I arrived. By others I was being told I might have a touch of pneumonia. I had gained 35 pounds in 10 days. He knew it was heart related. Three days on the cardiology floor to remove excess fluid so he could do an MRI to see if I could handle a cardiac Cath. The Cath diagnosis was virus induced heart failure. Doctor Patel always took care of me until he moved to another region of Georgia. He remembered me getting heaves when he told me he was moving. He is now back and just in time. Unable to get fluid under control for several weeks other cardiologist were recommending two surgeries. Doctor Patel has just started at Northside and after catching up he advised No to the surgeries and that I had simply developed a resistance to the fluid pills. The cardiologist at the other hospital NEW that but are pushed by administration to get $$$ - Surgeries at patient expense. As long as I have a choice, my doctor, my friend will be my heart care giver, period. Excellent bed side manner. Mechanical Degree AND his Medical Degrees, he is a High Value, High IQ man with a burning desire to learn more and be better today than yesterday. In 2017, even my toxic family was taken by him. Cannot say enough good.
